FoxyPalace.com Posted 20 May 2018 Posted 20 May 2018 Not going to happen. The owners will not even sell Mahrez for £50 Million plus a player. So Vardy our main goal threat is going nowhere, Cost us £1 Million we have nothing to lose, even if his contract was run down. Worth way more in goals and entertainment factor, great buy! 1

As I stated earlier - this is relevant. You wouldn’t allow mahrez’ contract to run down as he still has massive value at that point. Vardys contract expires when he is 33 .....

I use Mahrez as a example, we do not need the money, the owners are sending out the correct message we are not a selling club.

It was common knowledge what happened with ranieri and kasper, Morgan, vardy etc going to the board. and anyone with eyes can see how the players stop putting effort in when they have a problem with the manager, as they start playing again as soon as there’s a change. Too much player power and vardy is definitely part of that. having said that I do ****ing love him, him and mahrez are the best Leicester players I will ever see in my lifetime. but we need to move forward. So really you don't KNOW anything about the situation. By the way, keep your chin up, you're young you'll see better players playing for the City before you die. Watch Hamza.

So for that reason I’ll take the money and wish him all the best. In all my years as an FT member this has to be one of the most short-sighted comments I've ever seen posted. And that's saying something. Let Vardy go, are you ****ing mad? 1

Yes, they sold RVP to United, who was their best player at the time... They sold Sanchez to United, who was their best player at the time... And alas, they sold Henry to Barca, who was STILL their best player at the time... Should I go on?

No I think you should read the freakin post. Would an Arsenal fan comment on and be happy with seeing Henry leave for cash and player. Nope, he was priceless. Go to bed kid 1
Pete from the USA Posted 21 May 2018 Posted 21 May 2018 Imagine: Vardy and Diego Costa playing in a two up top. Can you imagine that much aggression on one unit? They'd have to secure a blast perimeter around the pitch.
maddog Posted 21 May 2018 Posted 21 May 2018 Direct swap for Grizemann :p he doesn't really want to go Barca.

Muzzy_no7 Posted 21 May 2018 Posted 21 May 2018 I would agree with a few others, 30-40m + Kevin Gamiero would actually make sense. Gives us almost a like-for-like and gives Vardy a deserved chance at a European Heavyweight, chance to win Champions League and experience another league.
JamesWelshFox Posted 21 May 2018 Posted 21 May 2018 I hope he wants to stay and to finish his career at City. I think he has a genuine love for the club because we gave him the opportunity to show how good he was, and by extension the opportunity to play for England and go to a World Cup. However, if he wants to try something different before it is all over none of us should stand in his way, he has been outstanding for us and stayed when others have moved on, without bleating about it. He owes us nothing now, and we will always owe him for a title we would not have won without him. If he wants to go he goes with my blessing and thanks, and if he wants to stay, then he becomes an even bigger legend. Whether he entirely suits the way Puel seems to want us to play is another matter, and probably for a different discussion. 1
LCCFox96 Posted 21 May 2018 Posted 21 May 2018 I like how people have put together a £30-40mil fee and helped themselves to Kevin Gameiro as part of that package. I value Vardy VERY highly and if I was in the owner's position, I'd be tempted to turn away all offers as soon as they hit the inbox. But come on I think this just highlights the difficulty any buying club will have with acquiring Vardy. The value for the average player his age and the value of his worth to us as a club are polar opposites. Any buying club's best hope is that Vardy requests to leave and our owners begrudgingly accept an agreeable offer out of sentiment as they value the players best interests. But I can't see Vardy requesting to leave or the owner's buckling where we would lose out as a club. 1
Blue ROI Posted 21 May 2018 Posted 21 May 2018 Would be gutted but I wouldn't begrudge Vardy a move to Atletico. Champions League football, outside chance of a league title and one big money move he surely has in him. One Thing in our favour though is the Mahrez situation. Club wont want to lose 2 prize assets before the start of the season along with interest in Maguire and/or N'Didi. Despite our indifferent form we will have a battle to keep our star players. More so than last summer.

Ok, ok 20m Gameiro and Niguez To seal the deal we will send a Leicester XI to play a friendly at their ground. Edited 21 May 2018 by desertfox2 Friendly 1
Foxy-Lady Posted 21 May 2018 Posted 21 May 2018 Any shred of truth in this story whatsoever......or just another round of wage increase negotiations for Vardy to reward his "loyalty" for staying? So bored of reading about Vardy transfer stories that are almost certainly "planted" by his agents/friends that simply result in us paying him more money to stay. Just wake me up when he has signed a new deal for us please...! 1
filbertway Posted 21 May 2018 Posted 21 May 2018 I'd imagine he'd be more a replacement for Torres than Griezmann. Vardy would be a serious downgrade on that little magician.

But who wouldn't take a look at a front line with Costa, Griezemann and Vardy in it? Spanish football would give him an extra season's longevity - at least. I hope he wouldn't go but it would be a great chance for him to become far more involved in play than he is now. Alternatively lets make a triple bid for Griezmann, Godin and Simeone. Its also in the Mercury Gerby and although they are a bit behind with the news they normally don't like to speculate ... their manager is a big big fan of JV and there is a high possibility that they will put in an offer ... however, I'd be amazed if he went and even more amazed if we let him ...
