While I'm not surprised Vardy has been linked with them again, I'd be surprised if they'd pay what we'd want for him tbh and given the age he is too,

Think they'll go for someone else in the summer tbh, who's younger and a bit more of a sell on value too

100% wouldn’t hold it against him.. however...

I think a move to David Beckhams Miami franchise in two years when his kids are a little more grown up is actually the perfect move for Vardy to finish off his career for two or three years over there.

Personally think hes settled here for now and he knew turning down arsenal would mean he was staying here until his “winding down” days

Would have gone arsenal if he was going to be moving but see a big new contract coming.

I still don’t see what signing a player we need makes this any more likely than if we hadn’t.

Quoted on the press release.

Id be baffled if he doesnt stay now.

Rudkin must have fought to keep him as i know he was under threat as well.

Also heard Mahrez to Man City looking very likely now.

It’s bad enough if we keep puel in charge with Vardy gone, relegation is a absolute cert

I'm not actually as sure about struggling next season as I was a week ago. On reflection, it's quite possible he knows half our team needs shifting on, the players in question might know they are for the axe and that's what caused the torrid end to the season.

One thing is for sure though, if Puel is pulling the strings in the transfer market, he's hitting the mark so far and is earning the chance to make his own team and see how it goes.

I admire your confidence in puel

I wouldn't begrudge him moving to a team like Atletico - much rather it was a foreign team as opposed to a PL side. I'd hate to see him scoring goals against us if he went to another team and the chances of us playing Atletico are remote, I make it two times we've met since the 90s?

Dearly hope we keep him but he has been fantastic for our club and us fans - turned down the arsenal move as well which earned him a lot of respect.

Could actually see this happening. Vardy and Costa would probably go well together and he fits the Atletico team perfectly.

If we lose Mahrez and Vardy though. We are ****ed.

Lose both in the same window and it’s Championship football.

One of the top Premier League strikers.

Still likely to have three or four years at the top of his game.

£60 million or fvck off.

Don't think for a minute the owners would sell Vardy at any price particularly if Mahrez goes.£20 million is a joke for a 20 goal a season international even at age 30.He is worth £100 million to us if he keeps us in the Premiership.

We know Atletico like Vardy from the comments after the Champions League match but doubt there is anything new in this except for the possibility that Griezmann might be on his way.

Why on earth would he want to go to Atletico, when all that's on offer is playing for a fantastic Manager, great stadium, one of the best teams in Europe at playing superb counter attacking football and of course the beautiful city and wall to wall sunshine.

Pretty much the same at arsenal but wall to wall smog.

It would be awful to lose him and we'd be in danger of going down if we weren't careful but I wonder at what point we rebuild a complete new era? How does a new manager come here and do what he wants without upsetting our mainstayers? I'm not saying Vardy is too powerful here but if he wants to leave only because Puel might stay then what do we do?

Most of us want Puel out but it's a dangerous precedent when we keep listening to the players.

If we can take a positive out of this at least it proves to all those non-Leicester fans who don’t seem to rate him much and think he’s a “one-season wonder” that he really is one of the best strikers around if a club like Atletico are interested. Still like others have said there’s no way they will pay what we’re after for him so I’m quite relaxed about this as long as it doesn’t affect his performances for us

Not going to happen. They will not pay the amount our owners would accept for Vardy at his age with no resell value. He will get a new contract stay with us and probably end up in the MLS for a couple of seasons at the end of his career.

Sat outside the pub yesterday and was discussing vardy and I actually used Atletico as an example of the only team I could see Vardy leaving us for.

Papers must have been listening in lol

I honestly can't see him leaving for the sum mentioned however.

What if he was too fancy a crack at living and playing abroad and almost guaranteed CL football for the last few years of him at his peak. And he decides to force the issue. Do we want to hang on despite him wanting to leave? Then how much can we really demand for a player who wants to go with a couple of years left on his contract and the wrong side of 30.

Be gutted if he left but they really are about the only club I can see him going too and I could completely understand why he may fancy it.

And that Vardy will be getting a new contract
