I can't believe they won a penalty shootout. Really proud of the team for the first time since I was a kid.

 

I do however now need a pacemaker.

 

We'll beat the meatball bois.

Southgate needs to accept his subs were awful. Penalty shoot outs are at best a 50/50 lottery. We were the better team but handed Colombia a chance.

Maguire will have Barcelona after him with  how calm and the way he moves the ball through the middle... absolute quality, makes Stones look second rate

I'ms so pleased for Southgate. That must put a lot of demons away. In the same manner Knockaert would have felt in those Watford games.

 

That's 22 years of hurt for him demolished surely. The players' passion was amazing to see. Love it. Never seen anything like it. at least maybe not since 1998.

Southgate thought Vardy would only get a couple of minutes, then Colombia score, I bet he didn't see that coming, so he doesn't give Vardy a chance on penalties

Did anyone else notice Southgate barely acknowledge Vardy during the post shoot out celebrations? Walked by him, didn't make eye contact, put a weak hand on the shoulder, then was all smiles and hugs with Trippier.

Grats England! Nice to get that demon out of the way. Good luck against a dogged Sweden side.

 

The danish commentators had high praise for Maguire by the way. He looked rock solid througout.
