Hahahaha were they actually his wife's tights?

I always assumed she bought them for him but never that she'd worn them first. I really want you to confirm that's true. lol

I am sorry.  I had never considered this.  I can't think she had worn them first.

I have heard the Birch, announcing the starting 11s at the King Power making inappropriate comments.   Keith Weller's family were visiting from America.  Birch recalled bouncing Weller's daughters on his knee when they were children.  He was wishing he could do the same now.

I think the actual story is that his wife found the tights in his car.

Keith got himself off the hook by telling her that they were for the game at the weekend, so had no choice but to wear them.Absolute legend.

If a mistress turned up wearing those things, think I'd give her the heave-ho personally though.

Could have used the old 'fanbelt' excuse in all honesty. Worked for millions of men in the 1970's

Would have saved him the ignominy of prancing around Filbo in them.

David Nish,

Peter Rodriguez

Frank McLintock (for playing, definitely not for managing)

Strange that Colin Appleton rarely seems to get a mention in these legend threads, he played in 2 FA cup finals ( 61 & captain for 1 in 63) was captain for our first major trophy win (league cup 64) captain and scored in the league cup final the following year, played for us for 12 years and was granted a testimonial....real legend material

There's an Urban Legend starting to circulate.

LCFC are going to drop 40M or more on a ready made Mahrez replacement.

Alan Woolett should be top of any list.   The Wigston Beckenbauer.

Arthur Chandler, Sep Smith, Adam Black and Johnny Duncan for some of the pre-Rowley players.

Too early for Maguire, no reason he can't be there after a few more seasons though. Same with someone like Ndidi.

Alan Smith too - some people on here seem to have it against him because he doesn't mention us enough in commentary or something, but without doubt one of the best strikers I've ever seen for us. Should be remembered in the same class as Worthington, Lineker and Vardy for me, he was a much better player for us for sure than the likes of Young, Heskey or Claridge who have been mentioned above him.

His last couple of seasons after Lineker left were probably the closest I've ever seen us to being a one-man team. We used to survive in the First Division under Milne because of Lineker and Smith (and Lynex) - as soon as they left we turned into a side battling relegation in the Second Division which about summed up just how much better they were than the rest of the squad.

Rowley; Banks;; Shilton, Lineker; Wallington, May, Lynex, Young, Melrose (you had to see the FA Cup qf v Shrewsbury); O'Neill; Claridge; Schmeichell, Simpson, Fuuuuuuchs, Morgan, Huuuuuuuth, Kante, Drinkwater,  Mahrez, Okazaki, Albrighton, Vardy, Ulloa.  Maybe Maguire.

Please feel free to challenge this list or add to it.

Let's hope a new legend emerges.

Can't forget the man who sealed our promotion with his never used before or since right foot...Lloyd Dyer! Massive legend!
