That was a great game. Hats off. Not in a million years I'd have expected such a come-back.

Now imagine if Brighton beat MCFC...

Hope not.

Would only like that if Liverpool don't beat Wolves...

Some Spanish media reaction to Barcelona's defeat: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/may/08/press-reaction-barcelona-defeat-liverpool-anfield-semi-champions-league

They seem to be taking it quite badly.....

"Barcelona had just “written the blackest page in their history”, said Sport, so they did the same. The front page was all black. “The greatest humiliation in history,” the headline said in giant yellow letters".

"“This disgrace will go down in history,” wrote Lluis Mascaró in Sport. “Shame. There is no other adjective to describe this, the biggest failure in Barcelona’s history. It is far greater than last year in Rome – and that despite the fact that they’d had that lesson. Nothing this century has been worse than what they suffered last night, Not even 1986. Not Athens in 1994. Nothing.”

"There were other adjectives: embarrassing, humiliating, ridiculous, unacceptable. Barcelona had been “torn to shreds”, “left in tatters”, “exposed”, “destroyed,” “ridiculed”. This was a “disaster”, a “debacle”, a “blow of gigantic proportions”. Barcelona were “soulless”. El País called it “a monumental failure”, adding: “Barcelona burn at Anfield.”“Anfield flattens Barcelona,” ran the headline in AS. “Liverpool devoured them,” said La Vanguardia".

"In Sport and El Mundo Deportivo, the players’ ratings carried a single word: insecure, erratic, unrecognisable, overrun, disconcerting, indolent, strange, catastrophic, unknown, impotent, invisible."

"“Barcelona were pathetic,” wrote the author Juan Cruz. “As if the only thing in their heads was a monkey hitting a drum, like in the Simpsons, possessed by ineptitude, shame marking every goal. A soulless team led by no one, full of doubts, stupid, sad, inexistent.” Joan Josep Pallas described them as being “as scared as a little lost boy on a beach looking for his mother, as defenceless as a featherweight facing Muhammed Ali’s fists, a rag doll in the hands of Liverpool, who were a gang of revolutionaries before the high bourgeoisie”. The article was entitled: “The End”. Which it was. For many of those players, for the manager, it really might be"

'Sid Lowe reporting from Madrid.'

Many have been comparing Messi with Ronaldo.....wrong wronnnng.

I have always maintained,or debated ,can these 2 play FB,or CB..!!! And give a Bline performance..

IMO there is no !! He or the other is  the best player..blah,blah...

but now I have 2nd thought..It must be Kompany

Kompany has now proven he can score Messi/Ronaldo style goals, now until these 2 prove they could hold down a CB role...

It's Kompany who is surely the best player any of us have seen..!!!..

His Wikipedia page says that he's a fan of Real.............Real Oviedo.

The Spanish sports media do like to get melodramatic, to be fair.

Not sure which image is my favourite, the "little lost boy on a beach" or "the gang of revolutionaries before the high bourgeoisie".

If I'd seen an episode of The Simpsons featuring a head (Homer's?) containing a monkey beating a drum, that might come into contention.... :D

That's the ultimate dream. Brighton beat or hold Man City to a draw, and with the door left open, Liverpool fail to take advantage v Wolves.

Man City have struggled to score last couple of games, so it's not impossible the end up 0-0 v Brighton.

Dont think I could handle anything other than an easy Man City win against Brighton.

Liverpool are just much easier to like in the Champions League than the Premier League.

That would be great, especially if Liverpool don't realise that Man City aren't winning/haven't won.

There'll be more focus on the title race than our actual game on Sunday! Lot of checking phones and looking up at scoreboard no doubt...

Really hope spurs lose tonight as the brother in law will be unbearable plus they are a bunch of Whiney shits ?. Can see them winning tho

Absolutely delighted for Liverpool. Despite all their shit, I don't actually mind them and I'd back Boko Haram if they knocked Suarez out.

Hope Ajax do the business tonight.

Some of you act as if we're rivals with Liverpool good grief.

Literally nobody is acting like that in the slightest.

It's got absolutely nothing to do with being a Leicester fan and everything to do with being a football fan. Liverpool are just a vulgar club with extremely vulgar fans.

Bit off considering the vast amount of Scousers that came on here to offer their sympathies after Vichai’s passing. I reckon there were more Liverpool fans than fans from any other club, tbh.

Come on man some of this has been just repeats, I mean discussing "I'd rather Wolves win instead of Brighton".

Most clubs have idiotic fans. I heard Manchester City fans on Monday, yet again, sing about us stabbing Ranieri in the back. Wierdos. Only club that do it. But are other sections of their fan base alright? Yeah. Most match going Liverpool fans I've met are sound.

Why can't it just be personal preference? Nothing about a faux rivalry.

Some might just prefer Man City to want to win it, which therefore means the possibility of Wolves winning moreso than Brighton?
