Guest Posted 23 April 2019 Posted 23 April 2019 I think we need to remember that Diabaté came from a low level French club and was the friend of Puel's son. He showed some skills initially, then the frailities expected in one who hasn't been playing at such a high level. It would be very unlikely he'd make it here at Leicester but I'm glad to see he's started to show his talent again,even if it is in the Turkish league. I'd think he's more likely to be signed again by Puel when he gets his next job and would probably benefit from playing in a less physical league than the championship or the prem.

He’ll certainly sell for the same if not more than we bought him for. give him a chance preseason under Rodgers and see how he does. I don’t think he’s any worse than gray and has a lot more in his locker for me.

As with many others its just whether he can improve that bit more and show Rodgers whether he's good enough. Im sure the manager will already have an idea but pre season will judge that. To be honest, im so surprised a lot of you are already writing him off considering his age and the fact he's never even been too bad for us when he's appeared. Granted he's never pulled up trees but he's shown enough to be given another opportunity

Completely agree Sell Mendy, Diabate And Ghezzal and buy better. I’m still of the opinion that our first team is good enough but the squad isn’t. Oh and while we’re at it, offload Amartey and Nacho too. Amartey is not a good enough RB replacement and Nacho hasn’t scored in about a million appearances. We lose the likes of Ricardo, Vardy and Chillers to injury and we look so much less of a side

Barnes looked poor last year but went back out to West Brom and now look at him. Not saying Diabate will be the same and may still be sold etc but worth another look at for sure. Dan Posted 23 April 2019 Posted 23 April 2019 Agree with people saying it was a mistake loaning him to Turkey. West Brom might not have been a bad idea actually. He was very raw but I never thought he looked bad, although the U23 games I saw of him he looked like he'd gone off a cliff as a player.

foxy boxing Posted 23 April 2019 Posted 23 April 2019 he's nowhere near the first team so send him on loan and if he doesn't do anything then sell, when we bought him he had potential but he hasn't utilized it enough to be in the team. clearly we all hoped for more but it just hasn't worked out.
