Brahimi deal stuttered at West Ham. We should’ve gone there. I’m worried that even the Algerians don’t rate him. That means he has a lot of work to do.

I hope he does well. The sooner people stop saying "Mahrez replacement", the better it'll be for everyone.

Whoever plays right wing is going to be his replacement, if this lad plays there, he's the Mahrez replacement. That doesn't mean I expect him to match Mahrez in any shape or form, picking up that slack has to come from all over the pitch.

Sometimes you get a player who just clicks under a certain manager.

I'm hoping he is one of those players.

And we're all hoping Puel is a certain Manager.....

Players who are signed as the manager knows them well through managing previously tend to turn out crap.

I do take on board fans opinions who see him week in week out.

We all hope they are wrong but it doesn't sound great. If the guy is not quiet there yet looking at the squad and the development lads we have several options already that could've been offered a chance.

Paying way over the odds in fee and inevitable wages for 2nd / 3rd choice players causes unrest among the other fringe players who understandably want a slice of the same....whats it make them worth?

Another Kapustka?

To be honest he’s got no chance with some of our fans, if you think about the abuse Mahrez used to get, even excluding that which came from his hankering for a move to Man City, Ghezzal will need to literally never ever have a bad game to not get dogs abuse on here. The very nature of a tricky winger means they are going to be inconsistent, fade in and out of games and give the ball away as they take the most risks on the pitch. Even Hazard at Chelsea will fade in and out of games. He’ll need to be thick skinned judging by the negatively surrounding him before he’s even met the squad.

Has there ever been such a negative reaction to an LCFC signing?

Junior Lewis?

the comments here are too negative for him not to be a great signing.

No reps left but I agree with your point.

Going by this thread, if he arrives now and can tie his bootlaces without falling over many are going to be thrilled.

He's been picked to be signed by a team of scouts a lot more qualified to know what to look for in a player than 99 percent 100% of people on this forum. They'll have stats and data that we simply don't. If they think he deserves a chance then he probably does.

Corrected for you.

Though, those same people did also choose Musa tbf.

Even if he cost 15m that’s a quarter of the fee we got for Mahrez and slightly less than what we got for Musa. That’s still in the scheme of things quite reasonable.

I reckon he’ll be similar to Boufal who Puel signed at Southampton who was inconsistent but had his days. I know that player has since been shifted on but the manager changed twice since Puel left.

Lets see how he gets on!

Why do some of our fans seem to be desperate for us to fail? Chaps - we have been a 2nd tier club for much of my 40 years and I remember when we were all getting excited by signing the likes of Sean St Ledger.

Ok I would have preferred us to sign someone with a bit more pedigree. But give the kid a chance and let’s enjoy one of the best spells in our history. He’s gonna be better than Barry Hayles, DJ Campbell and Paul Gallagher!

Honestly, he could turn out better than expected; Riyad and Knocky did...

Well said.

I would imagine no one on this forum has seen him play a full 90 minutes.

And as for the pisstake "highlights" reel on this thread, I'm sure any one of us could compile a similar one, at least 30 minutes long, showing Mahrez playing crap.

Well it's done now, no matter what I think of the fee or wonder what the hell is going on with our team building, he's here and I'll support him.

The lads got some talent in him, if Puel can focus is and get some consistency then he'll do just fine.

Welcome Rachid!

What is the point of being so angry about signing a player you've never seen play

When you have a tiny willy you tend to be angry about most things, imagined and real.  X

What a coincidence! To be the aforementioned 'helicobite' is to be happy and most definitely requires a sizeable wanger!

I'm laughing and nodding even though I have no idea what you mean but I am scared to look not very intelligent so am winging it.  X
