So, just because other teams pay that much means we have to spend excessively, too?

It means it's more or less the going rate so yes, we do.

I didn't really mind the Ward signing. Seeing as we value our 1st choice keeper at 30m+, paying 12.5m for our 2nd choice keeper and 3.5m for our 3rd choice keeper almost makes sense.

Ghezzal... seems to have been bought as a backup winger solely on Puel's request. Tbh if he's been bought for the bench, I'm more concerned about his rumoured attitude than whether or not he's any good at football.

I can't bring myself to watch any of his YouTube compilations. I'll rewatch YELLOW instead to cheer me up.

I believe the £12.6m signing of Ward is a world record for an out and out No2 goalkeeper.

For some reason I just get this feeling we have signed the Frank Spencer of wingers and even though we are probably going to be really shite this coming season, at least we can laugh as we head down the table:teehee:

I don't think he'll be terrible, I've looked through a lot of his "every touch" videos on YouTube and he's done ok. He's just going to be one of them, lovely touch and skill one minute, then play the ball out of play the the next. These were a couple at random and he was alright.

Greatest highlights reel ever.

He'll fit in great.

Gray, schlupp, Lloyd dyer at his worst, all rolled into one.

Wash your mouth out.

Oh come on, we all love him but how many times did we watch him run the length of the pitch them just carry on with the ball until it was out of play.

Nostalgia really does make everything better but we could be going back to the good old days.

Why do some of our fans seem to be desperate for us to fail? Chaps - we have been a 2nd tier club for much of my 40 years and I remember when we were all getting excited by signing the likes of Sean St Ledger.

Ok I would have preferred us to sign someone with a bit more pedigree. But give the kid a chance and let’s enjoy one of the best spells in our history. He’s gonna be better than Barry Hayles, DJ Campbell and Paul Gallagher!

Honestly, he could turn out better than expected; Riyad and Knocky did...

Who said anything of that sort?

I'm baffled as to how some people can make that connection just because we're moaning about the partial lack of quality of signings.

Then proceeding to compare our situation in the Premier League with our Championship "heydays"...

Also, Riyad and Knocky were relative bargains compared to Ghezzal.

£4.5m don't suddenly go £12.5m - unless we're involved. That's what grinds my gears the most.

Might as well have splashed the cash on a more high-profile signing with better stats over the course of the past three years or so.

Which I do hope we still do in the next few days. :fc:

Sometimes I think people like to complain. Many of our best signings have been low profile (I don’t neec to list them) and many of our biggest flops have arrived with high expectations. Give the kid a chance.

Why are people getting stressed about how much a player costs?  It’s not your money. It’s peanuts to our owners. I quite like the look of him. Give him a chance ffs.

He’s here now. He’s a Leicester player. We all want him to succeed. Let’s reserve judgement.

One encouraging thing is that the player was vocal about being excited to play for Puel again. It’s increasingly clear that young players think highly of him.

He was hardly going to say anything else.

Our best signings in the past few years were shrewd acquisitions. Kanté, Mahrez, Huth, Morgan (£1m), Vardy (£1m), King (academy), Drinkwater (£1m), Schmeichel (£1.5m), Albrighton (free), Fuchs (free), Cambiasso (free) or De Laet (£1.5m).

That's what in parts added to create a team-spirit of "underdogs", helped shape the mentality of a group made up of has-beens and rejects.

Shame to see that we can no longer pull that rabbit out of the hat.

I think we're in parts overpaying badly as of late. Reminiscent of Musa & Slimani.

I mean, Iheanacho now finally looks like a £25m signing.

I honestly believe he'll be decent. Fully expect him to be inconsistent but name a winger that isn't.

I'll feel better if we get another winger in but I've said from day 1 of this window, I'd like 2 wingers, a no.10, a RB and 2 CB's. We're a CB and a winger away from that.

Well, he seems enthusiastic, just have to hope he can come good for us but for some reason I just have a bad feeling for the coming season, always had a positive feeling up till now, maybe I'm just getting old and miserable
