I think he will ultimately be sacked, but his successor will benefit from the replacing of deadwood this summer & his work with young players.

That's if he can actually get rid of the deadwood! Only 2 days left.

When people looked to the dug-out and saw Pearson, O'Neil, Shakespeare they saw people they liked. They saw people similar to them. When they look down to see Ranieri they saw someone funny, likable, charismatic. Pearson, Ranieri and Shakespeare all had charisma. Fans could see themselves down the pub with Pearson. When they saw O'Neill they saw passion and commitment. These people are very likeable people.

Puel does not endear himself to a lot of fans. Puel comes across as aloof. He has a man bag. You get the idea he doesn't care what you think. When he speaks he rarely says funny things. He rarely says interesting things. You can rarely properly hear him speak. Puel doesn't seem like a laugh. He's not the man you'd chose to go down the pub with. Ranieri went around to pubs in Leicestershire buying round for people. He even wore a locally made coat. It's very unlikely Puel will do this.

I don't think people dislike Puel as a manager. I reckon they dislike Puel as a person. They want to be entertained by their manager. And fair enough, this is sport and entertainment. They want Puel to endear himself to the fans. It's unlikely Puel will do this. But he may be a great manager. He might be fantastic for youth development. He might, just might, bring good football to the pitch. But he's unlikely to be charismatic, unlikely to be likeable. And that's not good enough for many.

I dislike him as a person (for the reasons you mention, treating the Cup competitions like they’re nothing is an example of his lack of respect).

But as a manager he is equally dislikeable. With a record comparable to Shakespeare and a style just as negative there have been no signs to say he’ll be anything other than a failure.

I think some people have had a nice summer without watching Leicester and have forgotten how turgid we were last season.

If Puel is a success, it will be because he completely changes his attitude to the game overnight, which is highly unlikely.

For the sake of the club i hope he is a success. Not my choice for manager but im tired of the turn around. Somethings got to give and i hope its that he somehow becomes THE guy.

Success.

Will not bottled big descions like Claudio did.

Has a clear identity which Shakespeare didn't and Raneiri looked lost in his second season.

Prediciton = 10th position.

Hopefully we can shift a couple more, having them on our books isn't good for the wage bill.

My point was that many of them don't look like they will be anywhere near the first team this season- Slimani, Ulloa, James, Benalouane, Simpson.

In his defence before Southampton he was a manager with a name in France for fast paced counter attacking football and high pressing.

Not sure what changed in England but I'm seeing signs that he a trying to sign the types of players that could play that way.

"He has a man bag" is the greatest criticism of a manager I've ever heard.

Also we have actually got 3 more weeks to shift the deadwood. Only the PL window shuts on Thursday.

A failure would be lower than 14th and a success will be 7th or higher.

I think we'll finish 9th-11th and have a pretty unremarkable season.

4yrs ago, that would be Seen AS a total success....

Not long since we lost 5-0  (8-0 aggregate) to one of the worst Premier league sides ever (Palace) managed by one of the all-time plonkers (Woy). We were on such a bad run and playing such dire, turgid football that,

At the time, a similiar poll said over 92% wanted Mr.Dull gone.

Please, please tell me what has changed in the meantime that now makes him the new LCFC Messiah??

FFS - I am baffled.

Would it? Outside the top 6 the PL isn't that great. Stoke finished 9th for three years, Bournemouth finished 9th the other season and Newcastle finished 10th last season despite the fact they'd just got promoted.

It has nothing to do with winning the league, 4 years ago we were new to the league. If you've been established for three or four years in the league then you should be pushing for anything 12th and above now, especially with the resources we have.
