Is it just me or is the new fad with the Leicester City player recruitment team to wait ages and ages for us to be desperate in a specific position only to then oversign and be overly congested in said area? Up front to have more options we signed Musa, Slimani and Nacho to leave us with too many options (given we already had Vardy, Okazaki and Ulloa). Central Midfield we were at one point playing Andy King and Daniel Amartey just 3 months after winning the league, but then went and signed Ndidi, Silva, Iborra with Mendy and James still on the books. Now the same thing appears to be happening at centre back?

That said the logic of bringing in players now because only Maguire is under 30 and wanting longer term options is perfectly sound on paper. Though I think bringing two in is overkill unless Maguire leaves given that we already brought in one centre back in this window. I suppose it is forward thinking though it somewhat defeats the point of playing so many of the younger players in preseason if none of them are going to actually play.

This player looks very good and is very highly rated. He'd likely be a good signing and we'd be a good team for him to develop at. The only thing is he looks like the sort of player that should be starting and I don't see how we are going to integrate so many different players into the team given our relative lack of games. Puel is a fan of rotation, but with so many young players in the side we surely need to give them a run of games to learn the league and how to play with one another?

Anyway not a rant, signing exciting players who are young and have bags of potential is all good with me, even though I'd prefer if we brought in a hotshot winger to truly replace Mahrez.

My bad. Not sure why I thought he was at a Turkish club.

Point still stands though. It's a big ask for such a young defender who has never played in this country to come in and step into Maguire's shoes straight away.

Youll never win anything with kids.!!!!

We'll be playing Wes and Benny in cental midfield to cover for when Maguire and this fella charge up field.

Wouldn’t be surprised to Wes go out on loan if we get both these young lads in before the deadline.

We'd move on Benny, why on earth would you want to shed your well liked club captain two days before the season.

Maybe Morgan's shaky pre season has forced the hand a window or two earlier than initially planned? We were always going to need at least two centre backs next summer so we are just bringing it forward.

Yohan and Wes will be gone next summer when their contact runs out, if Maguire has an amazing season he could well be off aswell. That would leave us with one senior CB in Evans. His injury record is patchy at best.

these 2 players will hopefully be bedded in a ready for next season rather than panic stations next summer

Everyone seems optimistic about this centre back so it sounds promising. I know very little about this defender so just hope the scouting team have pulled out another gem rather than a Musa or Slimani.  It's always a risk signing a player from abroad as to how quickly they adapt to English football, which is why I would rather we signed one young promising player from abroad and one centre back here in the UK, rather than two from abroad, but that's just me.

Is he actually genuinely linked other then the 1 article?

Yeah. The Times and the Mirror

Watching that video he is very similar to Maguire. Skinnier but his demeanour and ball skills are Maguire like + his timings of challenges are good.
