I was happy with the transfer market but for me this is the best news ever. THEN when i read what he said

“Everybody knows how I feel about playing for this club and it’s a great feeling to know that I can look forward to another four years.

“The journey that me, the team and the club have been on in the past few years has been incredible.

“Going into the new season, it’s an exciting time for Leicester City and I’m delighted to be part of it.”

If i wasnt such a brave soldier, i might have shed a tear

Maybe Maguire ,could take a leaf from Vardys approach.

If Maguire's star keeps shining brightly...why shouldnt/couldnt he stay and go on to

Have a successfull career with the Club he is now playing for..LCFC.

Well done Vards!! Loyalty like this is rarely seen nowadays.

I know right, it’s almost like we aren’t going to be paying him about £150k a week as a 35 year old.

I asked my dad after seeing this today who Leicester’s best ever player was, I said it must be Vardy, admit it (he’s 50odd).

”Frank Worthington, always. Some hair on him”

Great news! Love watching him play for us.

The 4 year contract may seem a little long to some. However, I feel it sends a strong message to new, existing and future players. Working hard and showing loyalty to our owners and LCFC, will be rewarded.

Excited about Vardy, Iheanacho and Maddison this season. We'll be playing possession football so Vardy's pace won't be so important but with Maddison collecting the ball, moving up the field and finding Vardy we should be on to something. I hope he has a 20+ season and with a fit Maddison and play that drives the ball forward it might just happen :fc:.

Rejected Arsenal to stay with us. Don't care how much money we offered that really was a sign of loyalty, most would've jumped ship.

Not that there was interest from elsewhere but keeping Vardy at LCFC (or at least happy) is the single most important business the club have done this summer. Without his 20+ goals last season I dread to think where we would've ended up. Scores for fun and is quite easily our most important player. Delighted.

Can't imagine us without Jamie Vardy to be honest.

Delighted he'll be leading the line for us for the next few years.

Absolute legend.

Talksport just stated that by signing this contract, Vardy has obviously retired from international football and retired from winning stuff. I know it's their job but that's pretty over the top.

Vardy has been retired by Southgate already - see this year‘s World Cup. Too keen on Kane.

As for „winning stuff“, let‘s prove Talksport otherwise...

Too long for my liking and pretty unnecessary. Hopefully an MLS team fancy taking him in a few seasons time anyway.

Happy we have him for the forseeable future though. Hopefully he gets invovled in games a bit more this season. Its like playing with 10 men at times when he becomes isloated.

With us playing higher up the pitch he should hopefully see more of the ball

I was trying to think earlier whether Vardy might get to a point whereby he’s scored at every Premier League ground.

Not sure he’s scored at any of the 3 promoted sides or Chelsea. Any others? Palace?
