Portraying the Wolves game as lucky on our part is disingenuous if you only use how many times they hit the bar as reasoning. The majority of their efforts were long, speculative shots, 2 of them happened to hit the bar, the third that hit the bar was an impossibly wide angle that was close to the side netting than the goal. Wolves had one real chance that game, and Chilwell cleared it off the line. That's it.

OK buddy what do i know

Leicester City held on with 10 men to beat Wolves after striker Jamie Vardy was sent off - and manager Claude Puel said they were "lucky" to win.

I never said Leicester weren't lucky in general to win though did I, buddy? I said basing it solely off them hitting the bar 2 times from outside the box is disingenuous. They had 1 chance and fluffed it. It was 1 more chance than we had, but it was a chance.

To say Arsenal won the game because of their subs is just laughable. They came out the second half knowing exactly how to stuff us and proceded to do so. Man against boy ( and I mean the respective managers )

No team and Bench....and I laugh through the whole process you and others soley have against Puel....

Carry on..!!  It amuses me:teehee:

It's our own doing, our player strategy has been awful

I actually agree,..but it's what we got!!

Im a little bit confused, if you are for some strange reason discrediting the shots that hit the bar, how could we be lucky to win? you said wolves had one real chance cleared off the line

which would've made the result 2-1

I think you actually saying "Wolves had one real chance that game, and Chilwell cleared it off the line, is the disingenuous part.

Hence why our manger said the team was lucky to win

I'm saying you using them hitting the bar 3 times as a barometer for why we were lucky is bad. Those shots could have just as easily gone over the bar or wide of the goal than gone in. Like I say - they had a chance that they didn't score though - we had no clear chances. That's the reason we could class ourselves as lucky.

Spot on Col.

A year in and we have no backbone, or spirit if yesterday is anything to go by, and tactics that are not playing to the strengths of our better players.

Just what I expected to happen under this manager. Seems that the players not believe in what he’s doing either?

Luckily for Claude there are worse teams than us, but the lack of fight could be

a major problem.

This is what concerns me. The resilience and belief we showed throughout the title season seems a distant memory.

Good points. Next 6 games are all winnable. I'd say you need to be getting 14 points from the next 6 games.

Thanks mate.

these next 6 games are important, take away last night and whatever your opinions on Puel are. Get behind the team. We have got a good opportunity to get in back contention for top 7 before xmas

I think sadly what we are seeing here is a sporting modern day equivalent of The Emperor's New Clothes unfortunately though Claude is no Hans Christian Andersen and certainly no Voltaire.

We are constantly reminded by Claude that quotes we are a team in transition and quote. This mantra is repeated endlessly seemingly in an effort to deviate away from the true facts, not just by Claude and the club but also by the gullible masses. The only problem is that this transition seems to be a negative transition into the mundane.

In many ways the game last night mirrored Claude's career.. there was a brief flash of entertainment and Spark which threatens to bring about something good but it merely ends up being a damp squid and the season so far is going exactly the way I thought it would because the reality is that Claude is simply not charismatic enough to inject his philosophy on to the players.

I really do not want to be personal with my criticism of Claude because he doesn't seem like a bad guy but I see him on the touchline and cringe because all I see is some French bloke struggling to adapt and adhere himself to the club and I think this resonates to the players on the pitch.

I think he will win a few more games for us but as I've been saying for quite a while it will be pretty mid table stuff in a 33. 3% win Lose and draw ratio. Fair enough it's better than relegation but I'm really not sure the owner's will set off for this and there's no doubt in my mind that he'll be sacked sooner rather than later

Apologies for bad grammar I was narrating into phone

Leicester City should have been 3-0 up before making the cardinal sin of conceding a goal so close to halftime. I realise this needed the match official to be switched on as everyone apart from him saw the handball incident. Had this been the case who knows what the result would have been.

The thing that struck me watching last night was the complete turnover of our team from the Champions team.

Of the 11 of that side, we only had 2 - Schmeichel & Vardy playing for the majority of the game last nigh, with Vardy being the only outfield player. (Amartey was bit-part from that season & Okazaki & Albrighton only came on towards the end).

That is effectively building a team from scratch in 2 and a bit years. Think about how few premier league games the likes of Mendy, Maddison Chilwell have played & even some of the older heads of Maguire & Ndidi have little more than a season or 2.

Last night was frustrating, but I thought we played well away from home against one of the best teams in the country & had that header been a couple of inches lower, it could have been a very different story.

This is a young team that isn't going to be breaking into the Top 6 this year, but are building for next year or the year after. I'm OK with that. Last night showed exactly that: that we can match the best teams in the country for long periods, but can't do it for the full 90 as we are learning. I though last night showed we are on the right track.

:frusty:

But would it? Really?

You seem so sure of it but why? What gives you encouragement it'd have been any different?

If the penalty was given, it'd have just meant we sat back earlier, had to defend for longer, probably conceaded earlier.

We probably wouldn't have got the one goal we actually did get as we wouldn't have been pushing for it, chasing it, playing the exciting, entertaining, impressive football we played in the first 30.

Likewise how do I know what would have happened with the scenario I gave the example of, except the example I gave happened which is what i'm basing my scenario on regarding the penalty.

Can just imagine the dressing rooms at half time after Arsenal had equalised just minutes before going in. Emery, buoyant and lifting his players with his obvious exuberance. Puel sending our players to sleep with his monotone drawl. Can't help but think this would be a contributing factor for the turnaround for the second half. .

Chilwell is a bit better now but earning £115k a week that winds me up

Really?

Thought Vardy was on that, why would we give Chilwell such a huge payrise?

As last night!

As I said, we didn't create anything that game. We actually created clear chances yesterday - that's the difference.

We know you don't like Puel but making facts out of fiction is not going to get anyone else on your side.

He's pulling numbers out of his arse. Chilwell isn't on that much money.

You can't have played under many managers if you think they're all the same. Who is more likely to get a reaction from a team talk, Martin O'Neill or Roy Hodgson?
