Southampton approach former QPR and Swansea manager, Leicester have been in touch too
By Lucas Sposito -  26th November 2018

Southampton have reportedly made an approach for Portuguese manager Paulo Sousa, according to website Calcio Mercato on Monday.

The outlet says that with Mark Hughes is in danger since defeat to Fulham at the weekend, and the Saints are already looking for a new boss.

After getting to know more about Brendan Rodgers and Peter Bosz, the Premier League side have now made an ‘enquiry’ for Sousa, who’s currently unemployed.

Calcio Mercato claims that the Portuguese manager was approached by Leicester City a month and a half ago, and has been close to Roma as well.

The report says Sousa is looking to return to Italy or to the Premier League, although he’d rather take charge of a team with ‘European ambitions’.

Sousa has some experience in British football, having managed Queens Park Rangers, Swansea City and Leicester City in the past. His last job was in charge of Chinese side Tianjin Quanjian, which he left last month.

Is this website reputable?

Doubt it, is any website commenting on replacing Puel reputable?

Just any excuse to have a laugh , reflect on what a great job Sousa did before, admittedly with the totally wrong set of players and generally keep the forum ticking over with pointless topics.:P

...and to save people from opening the 'who should be the next LCFC manager' topic.

This rumour is obviously horsewank but if we were to appoint him it'd prove that our manger recruitment is the worst in the world.

Big name (shit)

Former manager

Applied for job

Former manager's assistant

Out of work

Hopefully the one and only time I have to look at the word horsewank.

Y'now what. It wouldn't bloody surprise me. It's well Lestoh.

I know! let's re hire a sacked manager with a chip on his shoulder to bludgeon up the players; then hire a big name.

It worked last time. Now, does Paulo have a son or like Ostriches?

Big Sam's available expert in keeping teams at this level and they go for Sousa, a guy that took us to the bottom of the championship.
