Ian Nacho Posted 18 December 2018 Posted 18 December 2018 Hoping that everyone applauds Mahrez tonight, if not, certainty don't boo him. Got to be one of the most talented players we've had at this club, giving us our best times, so we should show him the respect from our fans he deserves.
TiffToff88 Posted 18 December 2018 Posted 18 December 2018 As with Kante, Applaud when his name is read out, but as soon as the whistle blows, he's an opponent and will be treated as such. Also looking forward to the deafening laughter in the shootout when he chips the deciding penalty slightly to the left of Ward at waist height and its gathered up with ease...

Exactly, wouldn't applaud him in the game but before the game and maybe if he gets substituted is fine.
foxfanazer Posted 18 December 2018 Posted 18 December 2018 Yeah give him a clap before the game and then get behind our own players after that. Hope he don’t give it the no celebration out of respect if he scores, that wouldn’t sit well with me

That at least would be an improvement for him! Still gutted he's gone. Sigh.
AlloverthefloorYesNdidi Posted 18 December 2018 Posted 18 December 2018 I think it would have more utility to encourage people to cheer our current players and not boo them No good cheering for Mahrez if we groan at everything Iheanacho does

It's almost at the point where people groan in anticipation.
Fox92 Posted 18 December 2018 Posted 18 December 2018 It's sad that we need a thread to indicate we should be clapping a title winner. Anybody that boos him should take a long look at themselves.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 18 December 2018 Posted 18 December 2018 Won't clap, won't boo. He didn't exactly treat us with respect, but you have to appreciate be was a large part of our title win.
Jattdogg Posted 18 December 2018 Posted 18 December 2018 I dont think you need to do either really. He moved on and so have we. Will forever be debates on him helping us win the title vs those who say he quit on us (or something to that effect). I appreciate that team and his time here no doubt. Legend in that regard and always will be. I dont need to clap him and would never boo. The only people who need applause are our team as far as im concerned. When he retires and is no longer playing for an enemy i would definitely applaud call me sour if you want.
coolhandfox Posted 18 December 2018 Posted 18 December 2018 If only some fan's showed the same respect to all our current players.......
Quorndon_Fox Posted 18 December 2018 Posted 18 December 2018 Kante left without a fuss and has time after time come back to the support the lads without any fanfair. I'm not going waste calories clapping Mahrez nor oxygen booing him. We gave him his chance to become the player he did when nobody would give him a second look, he had some great match winning games but then decided when he wanted away to walk the touchline looking completely disinterested in a majority of games, came out in front of the cameras and told the world he wanted gone, WENT ON STRIKE AND WENT AWOL despite the club trying to cut a deal to let him go. Cut from different cloth and frankly I'm disinterested in anything he does now.
foxfanazer Posted 18 December 2018 Posted 18 December 2018 I thought it would hurt seeing him play in a Man City shirt this season but I’m surprisingly indifferent to him. Yes he was a massive component in us winning the league but his other shenanigans tainted his reputation for me personally. Got no hate for the guy but he don’t go down as a ‘legend’ in my eyes despite the wonderful things he achieved here
La-li-lu-le-lo Posted 18 December 2018 Posted 18 December 2018 Regardless of his behaviour he’s the greatest player we have ever had, pure genius.
Countryfox Posted 18 December 2018 Posted 18 December 2018 I’ll do what I normally do for players that have a strop, go on strike and disrupt the team ...

His was a massive part of our title win - in 50 years time I'll say yes I did see Mahrez play for Leicester City. He also conducted himself well last month after the helicopter crash.
SouthStandUpperTier Posted 18 December 2018 Posted 18 December 2018 LCFC and Mahrez were good for each other and owe each other nothing. Let's get on with the game.
foxy boxing Posted 18 December 2018 Posted 18 December 2018 It's up to the individual fan of course but he deserves some respect for what he did and achieved for the foxes. applaud him before and after the game but during just concentrate on supporting the foxes

That’s fine, I get to many he will be. Just never really endeared himself to me

Went AWOL and missed 3 or 4 games if I remember correctly
