Teams wanting our players

If any fan of the big 6 actually thinks they can sign any of our top players in Jan then they are very mistaken. Unless we get ridiculous bids we won't sell any of them. Arsenal thinking they can just get chilwell and Maddison. Yeh im sure they've got £120-140m to spend on 2 players!

I can see the trend continuing where we lose 1 player each summer. Probably will be Maguire this coming summer and possibly chilwell the summer after. Maguire is getting to an age where he'll want a move soon but Chilly and Madders still have plenty of time. But we won't sell any star players in January.

Is Maguire even that good?!? I love him but realistically where would he go.

Soyuncu looks like a ready made replacement for him wouldn't mind him leaving for the right price if he funded some important transfers.

That said, can't see anyone buying him. Arsenal maybe? They're kind of cheapasses though, doubt they'd shell out our asking price - as evidenced by their constant stinginess regarding links with Mahrez.

Chilwell and Maddison would both cost a fortune because of their long contracts, no one will stake that kind of money in January for them.

City when Kompany retires at the end of the season. He can be back up to stones and laporte. Or United as they don't have any centre backs.

Man U for me, Jones or maguire, massive club, if they come in, which I think they will, maguire will go in my opinion

IMHO Maguire would be easier to replace than Maddison.

More likely to see Maguire leave before Maddison.

There's a natural food chain in football.

If we have managers and players who do well, the bigger clubs will want them.

No point thinking otherwise, as much as we want to be ambitious and keep them.

I’m getting more comfortable with the idea of bringing young players on and selling them for a large profit at some stage. It’s a good business model that will potentially give us an advantage over similarly sized clubs that don’t have the merchandising income of the bigger clubs. It is an unfortunate fact of modern football that income is the key driver for success and vice versa.

The important thing is to get the balance right and not deplete the main squad too much as seems to have happened with Southampton.

I think Man U will be in the market for a different CB than maguire. They need a VVD. Someone like Koulibaly from Napoli.

Personally I think it’s more likely they’ll be sniffing around Maddison/Chilwell/Ricardo than Maguire.

I’d be sad to see him go but I’d rather lose him than one of those three.

Tbh part of me still thinks our best centre-back pairing is Morgan + Evans anyway...
