Somebody must've forced him at gunpoint!

Enthusiasm looks somewhat different. :D

Wish him well, a rivalry with Forest in the Premier League...

He's always been a bit curmudgeonly.

I hope he does well, personally. Would be great to see the man managing back in the Prem and I'd like to give Forest a good licking. It's been a long time, old foe.

A long time since he was at a club and the last few - Villa and Sunderland - the team went stale very quickly and his last few clubs he has ended up at loggerheads with fans. Throw Roy Keane into the mix and it could go horribly wrong.

Forest have been getting through a manager a year now, the owner has an itchy trigger finger and the fans have very little patience. And some point they have to pick a young manager and a project and stick to it.

10 years time

Things will go tits up for us and the only chance of silverware for either of us will be the biannual Martin O'Neill trophy....

Has been out of club management for 5 - 6 years and as we all know club football moves on very quickly nowadays!. didn't do too brilliantly at his previos clubs Sunderland and Aston Villa. was there a touch of sentimentality in him getting the job because he played for Forest!.

Judging by the #WelcomeHomeMartin, I would say yes.

It’s the hair. He should grow it back. Or wear an Afro wig.

So Richie De Laet went to the club's Christmas fancy-dress party as Hamza Choudhury?

Will be a disaster, as great as Martin was for us his football now is least a decade behind.

That's good then because Forest fans are 4 decades behind.

MON may not have had the same success of winning trophies at Villa and Sunderland, but on reflection, at both clubs, his finishing position was strong and events since his departure have shown how poor the ownership at both clubs was & that he may well have significantly over-performed at both of them.

How did he do a bad job at villa? His last 3 season he finished 6th with them and after that they went too shit

Recall their fans being delighted when they sacked him because they didn't like the style of football he played, even when they were in a decent position. They've done really well since...

Love the bloke to bits but obviously hope he fails here.
