Stanislav Lobotka

Bournemouth and Leicester City are both ready to bid for Celta Vigo midfielder Stanislav Lobotka, according to claims on Thursday.

Italian outlet Calcio Mercato reports that both Premier League sides are keen on the player and should be making an offer of €25m for him.

The website claims that Celta’s director Felipe Miñambres keeps ‘frequent contacts’ with English clubs.

Bournemouth and Leicester City, however, could find some competition from Chelsea for the player. The Blues are looking for a replacement for Cesc Fabregas and have the 24-year-old as one of the names on their list.

Anther club interested in signing Lobotka are Napoli, but the Italian side would only get him on a loan with an option to buy. As Celta’s intention is a permanent sale or a loan with an obligatory buying clause, they don’t stand much of a chance.

It’s claimed that Lobotka is currently protected by a €50m release clause.

A brief search reveals he’s had one assist in 14 games, scored none and his main position is defensive midfield though can play central/attacking roles.

Exciting and daring territory this.

To be fair, you can never have enough defensive midfielders

Just checked last seasons stats, he managed to go all season 41 games without a goal or an assist.

I love how people take this rumours seriously lol

I wouldn't be shocked, us having two DCM's isn't the problem. It's having two DCM's who aren't quick enough or accurate enough when on the ball. If we could revert Ndidi back to being the ball winner and put someone next to him capable of being the more forward thinking CM, in terms of quick ball to start attacking I think we'd see a difference.

Ndidi being tasked as being the more forward thinking player is doomed to fail as he just can pass the ball accurately enough. He has so many chances to put ball into space but just gives it away, that adds to the sloppy / slow forward movement we have.

Two attacking full backs, two wingers, a 10 and a 9 is enough to create so long as those in the middle can feed them quick enough.

This lad is very good. Played England a couple of years ago, he’s superb mover of the ball. He’s not an assist maker but more the midfielder who can play the through ball to unlock a defence. His stats won’t be incredible on assists. Intelligent footballer which we lack in bucketloads

You can see from his videos, it's all about quick ball into the right areas to get moves started.

He’s been a player the stats geeks have spoke about for a while. Stuff like this

Stanislav Lobotka: Of the 172 players to have attempted 15+ dribbles, Lobotka has a better dribble success rate (87.5%) than any other player in Europe's top five leagues this season
