How do you feel about the transfer window?

Definitely a success fair play. We've done well to shift some of the deadwood and probably saved a reasonable amount in wages.

I'd be happier if there was some noise about the prospect of keeping Tielmans, an agreed fee and pre contract agreement if the club are happy with him basically.

But you can't have everything. I was expecting nothing tbh so it's a bonus.

I'd imagine that Silva's included in this deal makes it hard to set that up though - one club would have to agree that they'll take the player permanently if the other clubs happy with their end, regardless of if they still want the player they've loaned. I'd not be shocked if there was a gentleman's agreement in the summer that, if both parties are happy, Silva and Tielemans will move permanently.

Quite decent. Missing a target man though, that will continue to make us lose points at home.

Stick Harry up front if needed?

I don’t have a problem with ya not bringing a striker in. Iheanacho is a proven finisher, his Man City record speaks for itself, we just need to create similar chances for him. Ambitious but it's where we’re heading, right? :)

Really chuffed actually, we usually have a boring January window (as does most teams) so i think this one on paper is a success.

(Handsome level of team has dropped drastically though.... Just saying)

Going into the window, my ideal scenario would have been to offload as much dead wood as possible and add a winger/attacking mid, a creative cm and a striker. That's what I wanted to happen.

What I expected to happen was a few players leaving on loan. At best with an option to by.

So all in all, it's far more than what I expected. Moved on a few decent earners on permanents. Moved on even more on loan with quite a few youngsters going for experience and got in a cracking creative CM as well as Barnes coming back to fill that attacking mid spot I felt we needed. I still think we needed another striker. I reckon not having another goalscorer will cost us 7th but all in all, a successful window.

Perhaps could have shifted a few more, would have liked to have seen an out and out striker signed/loaned but that’ll probably happen in the summer so all in all, not too shabby.

Agree with those saying sensible window, but would have liked a pacey striker in on loan in case vardy gets injured or loses form, we have shite options otherwise

The striker thing could be seen as a negative, but we have 3 strikers with no heavy schedule, so its not really an issue.  Plus, the next striker we buy needs to be a keeper.  Someone who can come in and play.  Such a key transfer is best left to the summer

I went over that sentence in my head longer than I should have.

I actually believe Puel thinks Gray could fill that role if needs must Monse?

He has played him there, your probably right, but I don’t know what you think but for me it’s just no, poor first touch, and too poor decision making for him to be our main striker

Looks promising. Silva sadly was a no show so to get him out and bring in a player with a lot of potential in Tielemans is a very good move. He might not be with us long but if he turned out to be another Cambiasso who makes us that bit stronger I'd be happy.

Sad that Iborra has gone but he wasn't making much impact this season. He wanted to go back home I suspect. God luck to him.

Also sad how King has gone. The last link to the pre-golden era has all but gone now. Good that Benny has gone. Even Forest might be a step up!

Could do with a striker but one thing at a time.

One thing I'm pleased with is that there wasn't any stay-or-go saga like with Mahrez for the first time in 5/6 transfer deadline days.

I'm kind of hoping Silva has an amazing 5 months at Monaco, will put us in a much better position to try and get Youri on a perm deal. If Silva flops then it will be back to the drawing board in summer.

As he is now,I agree, in fairness there have been glimpses of improvement and that penny may have started to drop :P

The season is probably dead now. The squad has been bloated with overpaid and average players. Just have to bite the bullet and get back to a sensible and balanced squad.  Need to get through this season and reassess where we are .

Dead?? We have Europe to push for and one of the most exciting young squads we have ever had to develop. I think the remainder of this season is full

of hope and expectation

??? Yeah lets go for Europa League qualification .. the most pointless and longest

competition in football.

We should have been in the final of the Carabao Cup against a Chelsea side in disarray and in with a serious chance of a trophy.

Then the FA cup ? What the hell was going on there ?.

Yeah, why not try to qualify for Europe... Why is it pointless? I can’t answer the other questions. But if we can create a genuine reason to improve our squad with a Euro incentive and give us fans something more to recognise as a milestone towards becoming a bigger and better club then what is wrong with that?

If we'd been able to get 22-25 million, ok 18-20, for Slimani to stick in the summer budget it would be even better but there's only so much you can do as a seller, maybe a more productive spell from him between now and the end of the season will raise his profile and potential value but other than that some very good work, with Choudhurys re-introduction and Barnes it feels like three new faces which at the very least make everyone raise their game to keep their place and new faces can bring enthusiasm and a refreshed feel around the place bringing increased options and broadening the scope of playing styles available to us.
