Bert Posted 26 February 2019 Posted 26 February 2019 So two individuals were arrested in L1 toward the end of the game tonight having been caught on camera making homophobic gestures. People were warned before hand that it would be zero tolerance tonight especially yet these idiots still continue with their narrow mindedness. So good on the police/club for making a stand. My only disappointment is that the Brighton fans were singing “you can shove your bloody clappers up your arse”. If we were singing that there’d be uproar and outrage.

Paninistickers Posted 26 February 2019 Posted 26 February 2019 What is a homophobic gesture? A limp wrist?!

Patrick Posted 26 February 2019 Posted 26 February 2019 Good to hear it was taken seriously. A no tolerance approach needs to be taken across the entire footballing pyramid.
The whole world smiles Posted 26 February 2019 Posted 26 February 2019 Heaven forbid some one told someone else to shove something up their arse at the football. You wouldn't have enjoyed it very much in pen 1 at Filbo street! Also Is telling someone to shove a clapper up their arse homophobic? Gay, straight, male or female I'd have thought it would be universally unpleasant?

Xen Posted 26 February 2019 Posted 26 February 2019 Didn't hear anything directed at the Brighton fans tonight, but I was at the opposite end of the ground this time so that's hardly surprising... What did disappoint me was the bloke behind me constantly referring to Maddison as a f****t, queer, and claiming he was sticking his arse in the air when he fell over waiting for someone to jump on him. I didn't say anything as I'm not the confrontational type and was on my own, but it's really disappointing that we still have neanderthals like that in our fan Base. Just 3 days after the football V homophobia fixture, too...

melrose Posted 27 February 2019 Posted 27 February 2019 If I was next to the Brighton fans my agenda would be different ... my chant would be.. "Why is it eight quid for fish and chips in Brighton and only four ninety five just down the coast"

Master Fox Posted 27 February 2019 Posted 27 February 2019 Oh god. Nothing happened. Stop trying to make attention for yourself.

Yeah im 100% behind every action we take against homophobia but that comment is kind of so outrageous it is actually quite hilarious. I read it as pump him first time, which sounds even more vulgar.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 27 February 2019 Posted 27 February 2019 Why's it just for these lot? If I start chanting Scousers are dirty poofs lock them up I doubt I'd get banged up, Surely you should operate this policy on a weekly basis rather than just for one club who does have an overly gay culture. It'd be like one week we can be racist to Bournemouth but not Birmingham

melrose Posted 27 February 2019 Posted 27 February 2019 What about my selective abuse that I've received inthe past, I've had it over directed at me from away fans stuff like "I'd rather be Simon Weston than Ginger" Where is the line drawn?
