I was one of those having a pop at Maddison at the start of the new year. The new manager, better fitness, and higher press have benefitted him enormously. He is playing much better-and showing his undoubted class. Long may it continue. Praise where praise is due.

The whole midfield unit have been excellent since Rogers arrived, they compliment each other so well you could pick any of them over the last few games for motm. Playing in positions that best suits them, been a joy to watch especially with the midfield problems we have had over the past couple of seasons, early days but if Tielemans can be persuaded to stay then Maddison will benefit massively, future looking good at present

He has some meh moments and in some games could have perhaps done betterbut he wasnt the only one in many of them games, i always knew he would come through and never knocked the lad. 

 

Cant recall ever having a player who could knock in the goals from free kicks like he does.. whats that his 3rd this season from free kicks near the box?

He's had poor games this season, but that happens. The lad is an extraordinary talent. Genuinely think he's one of the most gifted players to ever play for the club.

A month ago Kingfox was saying Maddison was the most over-rated player in the division.

The majority of young players suffer losses of form, especially ones who have made it into the prem for the first time after stepping up a league. Im glad to see he is becoming a bit of a dead ball specialist and adding goals and has found his form, no doubt the feel good factor of having a manager that can communicate with him helps. Keep it going Madders!!

It's pretty reasonable to temper your expectations of a player with the fact that a) he's still at an early stage of his development and b) is playing his first ever season at this standard, don't you think?

Abit harsh if you have read the last few pages of this thread when many have named him MotM. 

 

Tielemans has changed the team since he has come in, which has taken the pressure off Maddison no end. To me they are both great attacking players along with Barnes (who for me will be the stand out player in years to come.)

But to be fair, Maddison was not playing as well a month or 2 back. He wasn't playing to the best of his abilities like he is now so all credit to him now but you can see why people were not that impressed. 

 

I think since he has come to the club he has been great but im an opptimist and could forgive his mistakes/ falling over/miss placed paces as it was only fair as it was his 1st season in the EPL not every one sees it the same
