RowlattsFox Posted 1 June 2019 Posted 1 June 2019 Subcontinent sides struggling with seam bowling in England is no suprise. A lot of talk about batsmen before this world cup but there are some top bowlers on show too.
Chiltern Fox Posted 1 June 2019 Posted 1 June 2019 Afghani's showing some fight. Got respect for this team.
Izzy Posted 2 June 2019 Posted 2 June 2019 Good effort this from Bangladesh against SA. Not sure they'll post enough to win but the crowd are enjoying it. Like a home match for them!
STEVIE B Posted 2 June 2019 Posted 2 June 2019 Good game this. Hopefully a close finish. Bangladesh slight favourites now, scoreboard pressure etc. England would probably win this comfortably, but SA are not that good now and are known to choke.

stripeyfox Posted 3 June 2019 Posted 3 June 2019 I'm sure there's a good reason, but why in a round robin with an even number of teams have India not played yet, even though some teams have played twice already?
The Bear Posted 3 June 2019 Posted 3 June 2019 India play South Africa on Wed. SA's 3rd game. India's 1st. Doesn't make sense.

If anything we should have played against one of the teams yesterday. Anyway, my dad is a volunteer driver for delegates at The Oval and he missed out by one car to give Jacques Kallis a lift yesterday to wherever he'd need to go . He had to settle for the PA to chief exec of ICC...
ealingfox Posted 3 June 2019 Posted 3 June 2019 Supposedly India asked the ICC for more time to settle in the UK following the IPL.

Well it seems strange, you wouldn't imagine FIFA doing it, but then I suppose it is a long tournament so there's more scope to juggle the schedule. I guess India will have more games to squeeze in later on?

But then only 2 days between England and Bangladesh games. South Africa though, after the 3 games by Wednesday this week, have 4-5 days for the rest of their games before 8 (!) days between their final 2.
Chiltern Fox Posted 3 June 2019 Posted 3 June 2019 Bcci calling the shots again. This might all backfire on India.
ealingfox Posted 3 June 2019 Posted 3 June 2019 Anyone else find the BBC live text feed really irritating? It's quite off the pace to begin with and I find updates appear and then disappear.
The Bear Posted 3 June 2019 Posted 3 June 2019 That happens with the football live streams as well. Usually a good 2-3 mins behind too. They're just cack.
ealingfox Posted 3 June 2019 Posted 3 June 2019 I've never noticed it on the football before but I don't really use BBC for that so much I guess.

leicsmac Posted 3 June 2019 Posted 3 June 2019 TBH bowling first and restricting has never been this England teams forte, they've always had the mindset of "bat first, we'll set a monster total and pressure you into crumbling chasing it" or "any target you set, anything at all, we can and will chase". Let's see how true the second of those is today.
Izzy Posted 3 June 2019 Posted 3 June 2019 Decent effort that from Pakistan, fair play to them. Still fancy us to polish them off though...
fuchsntf Posted 3 June 2019 Posted 3 June 2019 So if England can start well, then we go on to win... Top 5 get 70 runs...then it's easy peasy.... But we know from the past..England can lose their top 4 quickly...then Pakistan are in the game...
