The Hamza movement.

Probably would have gone with a more attacking player than Albrighton but maybe that will allow Ricardo to get forward more as he is dangerous in forward postions probably more so than Albrighton

4-2-3-1? Very Puel-esque

It's not like we never played this formation before Puel came in is it?

What’s happened to Wes - apologies if I’ve missed something

There was an issue with one of his kids being ill which is why he missed the West Ham game - Brendan sent him home. Maybe it's still that. Can only hope it's nothing too serious and that his kid is okay.

He’s not beat his man for years, he can’t play on the right side. He gets away with it on the left as he can cut inside.

As for Hamza I hope he’s been working on his passing as it needs serious work, he’s not played any football for months

Disagree with your point about Hamza. Think he is a pretty good passer of the ball tbh. Fizzes it in at pace and looks forward more often than not

Cautious start with Albrighton. If we want him for his defensive contributions I would have started Gray who is decent defending now. It's great to have a real attacking injection in Barnes on the bench. Hopefully he comes on about 60mins.

Fancied Barnes to tear their defense a new one today, fresh legs later on will be a threat still. Buzzing for Hamza though.

Essentially, 7th is gone, so he needs to look at his options and give game time to those players on the periphery.  Albrighton and hamza fit that category at the minute.

this is Rodgers seeing what the strength in depth is and where he needs new faces next season.

Result is is less important than the performance for those players today.

Just been on the Arsenal forum, half of the comments on the LCFC thread just slating their gutless players and the other half reminiscing about that Danny Welbeck goal. They genuinely thought they had won the league after that goal, mental. The arrogance of some Spurs/Arsenal fans and their 'entitlement' to the title that year is embarrassing, the truth is nobody even came close to us we were in full control for 98% of that season. Welbeck goa/Vardy red moments aside.

Can't stand arsenal, please win today boys.

Also, it'll be great to have Hamza, Barnes and Chilwell on the pitch in the second half, all now in the England squads. Really fantastic academy achievements.

Not sure going defensive is the best idea against an Arsenal that's so poor away from home.

Me neither. Hope this ain't gonna be a theme with Rodgers against the big teams.

Not sure it's the plan to go defensive, I hope it's more like hamza puts one on a couple of their players and their fragile mood shatters.

Vardy to get a couple for me

That's like us reminiscing about the Peter Taylor era

Hope you're right pal. Seems strange sticking Maddison out wide when he's in decent form at number 10. It'd be better if Barnes was in for Albrighton. Just hoping Ricardo overlaps a fair bit

I pray to be proven wrong but I think Brendan's got it wrong today. The one thing that hurts Arsenal is pace. I can see Vardy being isolated as well

Certainly will have to take the flak if we lose and haven't caused their very dodgy defence enough problems. Will wait to see what happens though as Rodgers must have a game plan, he's not usually one for pragmatism.
