I mean, it’s been 30 years since NWA and not only is it an extremely well known group but they very recently had a massively successful Hollywood movie made about it. So most people will remember them probably. They’ll know them as well if not better than the bands you mentioned.
Ecdysiast Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 His music is not especially to my taste, but he's a fellow passionate City fan, and a footballer and I suspect he has more talent at both skills than most of the posters on here denying other people's musical taste. Carry on lad...(quietly tho please..lol) P.s. It's not as if all our chants are musical classics, packed notable lyrical tours de force!
Fox_in_a_Box Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 Better than most rap music these days. At least it's not mumble rap. Gwan lad.

Sol thewall Bamba Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 The guy loves Leicester. Proper reps the city. Also so many examples of "I don't like it so it's shit" on the first page, whack up some artists you like chaps and let the internet critique your tastes

Voll Blau Posted 7 May 2019 Posted 7 May 2019 Met him briefly after the Easy Life gig at the Academy. Really sound bloke doing his best to put Leicester on the map and encourage other artists from the city too. Some of his lyrics are fantastic and he's on the verge of making it big, all while trying to balance a football career too. Good luck to him.

Who will even remember these rappers in fifty years? People still listen to Kool Herc, you dope. What a stupid statement. Just because you don’t like the style of music doesn’t make your point valid. There’s plenty of shit artists in all types of music that didn’t make it in their era. Nas, Biggie and Tupac have just as big an effect and musical credibility as the people you mention and guess what it doesn’t have to be one versus their other. A lot of us, unlike yourself it seems, have broad musical tastes. I can’t stand people like yourself thinking your some kind of musical gatekeeper.

Speaking personally, I like this kid's music. More power to him...

Samilktray Posted 7 May 2019 Posted 7 May 2019 Well I’m quite surprised that the boring old boys of FoxesTalk are slagging something off that they don’t understand. Never seen that on here before.
Finnaldo Posted 7 May 2019 Posted 7 May 2019 This thread really does show how out of touch some posters are. There's no issue not liking it but the amount of arrogant dismissal and gatekeepership is amazing. No wonder it took millennials like Kasabian to actually give Leicester some musical culture It's not really surprising with the sneering attitude of some of the older folk on here have, at least artists from the younger generations which Easy Life and Kamakaze have some vision to give Leicester some modern relevance.
MC Prussian Posted 13 May 2019 Posted 13 May 2019 Not my cup of tea, this abomination of what is now called "music". I grew up with ATCQ and De La Soul and rap has gone off the rails in recent years in my opinion. It's a lot of template beats and it just sounds rather generic, and it's equally hard to tell the difference when you look at the music videos. It's all been done before. Still, I wish him well, quite the work trying to balance sports and a musical career. More power to you, Mr. Robinson.
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 13 May 2019 Posted 13 May 2019 Kama is a wicked lad. Trust me I’ve never known someone to be so proud to play for our club when he was in the academy. Amazing to see his future planning out.
