Why are our friendly games against shite sides. Surely we need testing a bit more!

First couple usually just to help with match fitness.

The tests will come against Stoke and moreso Atalanta.

Usually these type of friendlies are purely for fitness. I personally prefer them to games like the Asia cup which just involved pointless traveling around the world for no reason.

This has been a poor half of football, but these are all our young guns and reserves. It was a chance to impress and see if they could make a claim for the first team squad. Don't think anyone will be doing that!

Sadly it also shows that we really do need another striker as Ihenacho would not be able to lead the line. Perhaps Perez could do it though?

Early friendly games like this are all about fitness, later games are for better opposition and testing the players

Some people on here seem to be taking friendlies far too seriously.

Some of these players have barely played together so there's bound to be some disjointed play. It's precisely what friendlies are for - to test out some new players, youngsters, tactics etc.

Before we won the League we drew with Mansfield ffs.

Sure, but putting Ian Nacho with the kids is a stupid idea.
