ozleicester Posted 11 February 2020 Posted 11 February 2020 A somewhat (IMO) interesting read. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-02-11/stadiums-too-big-for-some-australian-sports/11951632
deanolegend1989 Posted 11 February 2020 Posted 11 February 2020 What I don’t like is if there building a bigger stand on the east stand then we won’t see it on tv as the camera faces to the west stand.

TWUKO Posted 11 February 2020 Posted 11 February 2020 It will be interesting to see how they access that camera gantry. They have to go to the top of the steps on the east stand at the minute, but the executive boxes are in the west so it would need to run the rull length of the west stand with access in the kop or family stand or both. Seems a bit odd when you could incorporate it into a new stand? Unless it's for automated cameras and not commentators and cameras?

Away end opposite , kop to the right of camera etc. Would be weird. Has there been any other stadium where this has happened?
Collymore Posted 11 February 2020 Posted 11 February 2020 (edited) Are we sure it's not just extra cameras for VAR? Edited 11 February 2020 by Collymore 1

The bigger picture is any possible new signing as they are shown around the ground will walk out through the tunnel and the first thing they see will be a huge stand. First impression will be amazing.

TWUKO Posted 11 February 2020 Posted 11 February 2020 Did liverpool do that too as you used to see the standing water/guttering on the roof when the camera panned towards the corner flags, now the camera's are in their new stand on the opposite side? Not sure if dugout and tunnel swapped too? I would expect ours to move to the other side too, our east stand will be the showpiece stand!

st albans fox Posted 11 February 2020 Posted 11 February 2020 I guess we’ll have to wait for the club to tell us .......
davieG Posted 11 February 2020 Posted 11 February 2020 Or it's just temporary whilst the East Stand is developed. 2

Popular Post UHDrive Posted 11 February 2020 Popular Post Posted 11 February 2020 Sounds to me like the club, along with in-depth viability studies that are now complete, will submit a full planning application rather than an initial outline app to the council over coming weeks. 'If' those new elevated camera platforms are for next season then it would suggest the club have held informal chats with the planners who have given an informal nod for them to submit a full detailed application for the whole site + stadium redevelopment. It would also mean that TOP could cut the ribbons on the new training facility and get jcb's working on the stadium redevelopment the very next day given the planning process length. We all know the funds are available. Would be very clever, and very efficient. *many variables I know. 5
