You could argue that for a penalty, but then when Weghorst had the chance immediately after your first goal, the defender (Soyuncou? apologies for spelling) clearly had hands on him.  That would have been a penalty too.

Did not make LCFC youtube highlights so going with the it was soft answers. Though why would JV throw himself to the ground after making the space on the edge of the 6 yard box?

Shoot and beg the ref for VAR if that Pope gets in the way,,,,,,surley thats the way to use VAR

DSR, why would Burnley regionally restrict their youtube highlights? Tired of all that international exposure and foriegn media and fans blocking your scenic alleys?

Yep, I thought Soyuncu was a bit touchy feely at the time,, thought we were doomed for a good 30 seconds of Var anticipation

No retake - why?

because saka didn’t touch the ball, if kasper saved it and saka touched it then it would have been retaken. also would have been retaken for kasper being off his line if he had saved it

Saka is getting close to being so far inside the box that it becomes irrelevant as to whether there is a save or not - and the kick hasn’t even been struck yet!   you could make a case that if Taylor sees him two yards in then he could blow before the kick is actually struck and order it to be retaken, thus rendering the outcome to be irrelevant.

Just re-watched the replay and Varane actually pushes Iheanacho, which makes Kelechi stumble and dangle his leg out trying to regain balance.

Shouldn’t have been over turned.

Seems to be a mixed view so not a clear and obvious error ?

It should never have been overturned - was not an obvious error

McTominay Diving in off the ground, studs showing and out of control - that's OK though.

VAR has been annoying me ever since the Wolves Handball/Sleeve goal was allowing and the following week there was an exact same decision and everyone was in uproar and the referee came out and apologised.

I honestly believe it should be the same as Rugby, just show the Ref the replays on a big screen and let him decide

The goal: it’s soft but I’m guessing the ref didn’t see it (that’s why he’s told to look at it) and if he does and as soon as he does he’s always giving that to the defending team.

The sending off: it meets any criteria of a sending off. He’s dived in from a distance, out of control, excessive force with his studs showing and has caught him high. It’s as clear and obvious as it gets, but we’re not interested in actually getting right decisions. Anthony Taylor made that perfectly clear.

The amazing thing, is that 443 w*nkers actually DON'T hate VAR.

I look forward to Dale Johnson on Twitter on Monday saying the reason McTominay wasn’t sent off is because the Premier League has a high bar for an overturn so stick with the on field decision (probs sent off in other leagues) and then the lowest bar for a foul is sufficient to overturn a goal. The whole thing doesn’t make sense, absolute

Match fixing tool, that’s why it’s been introduced.

Please No - that’s re reffing the game which is exactly what var shouldn’t be doing - it’s for clear and obvious errors only

If you allow "clear and obvious" as the means for using VAR, you will continuously end up with decisions in favour of the big teams such as today.  It adds an element of uncertainty to the call which allows the decision to be swayed one way or the other to suit.

For me there is a biased not on purpose but it exists

ref was stood over them jostling, didnt think for a second it would get called back cus decision already made.........

exactly the ref was looking directly at it and didn't see an issue, there was nothing clear and obvious that he missed he called it as he seen it.
