Unreal engine 5 looks good, but so did 4, not sure I saw any game that matched what the unreal engine 4 demos did throughout this gen. The consoles were far too weak. On PC BR, the half life Alyx update with how Liquid reacts actually impressed me more though

The guy is saying here they had to rewrite part of the engine because the PS5 was too quick.  

 

Looks to me as though Sony have produced the better system hardware for optimising the games.  XBox may well be better on specs but the exclusives on PS5 will see it succeed again.

 

Let's see what happens when the games drop.

Console looks like my Virgin Media router. Curious to see that laying on its side. But actually seeing gameplay was great and Ratchet and Clank in particular looks brilliant. 

 

The game I most want is the Demon's Souls game because I'm sick, but it all looked good. Good to see the staring contest between xbox and PS on pricing continues!

Yeah it is definitely an interesting look, but so much better than a literal black box like Xbox

 

Ratchet and Clank definitely top of my list, with Horizon 2 in a close 2nd

Like the look of the new Gran Turismo, even if we didn't get to see much, haven't played one since 4 on PS2, so watching the trailer brings back a lot of memories.

EDIT: Resident Evil 8 too, yes please!

I thought the same, was bored throughout the whole hour I watched. It won't be hard for Microsoft to beat that reveal.

 

The graphics didn't look too good either, although there obviously only launch games, but I thought they would look better.

I'm sure both consoles will be pretty even when it comes to cross platform games and people will just buy what they're accustomed to.

 

The exclusives though are where it's at and this launch video was a far better effort than we got last time round with PS4.  People are moaning about lack of games.  Well, there was a distinct lack of games on PS4 at release - I remember we had Resogun, Thief, Knack and that's about it for ages.  

 

This time round you've got Horizon, Ratchet, Resi Evil 8, GT7, a revamped Demon Souls, and a few fresh ideas.  Throw in Cyberpunk, AC Valhalla and TLOU2 and you've got a pretty extensive list of games there for the first half of next year to get through.  No doubt I'll still be completing Witcher 3 into next year anyway.

 

The option of the digital only version is interesting.  This is clearly where it's going.  There won't be a disc based version next time round.  Although the console is likely to be cheaper in this form, you'll end up paying over the odds within a year as all the digital copies of games are way overpriced at launch.  Perhaps they will come down on a par with disc but I doubt it.

I saw a meme on reddit comparing the xbox to a mini fridge and the PlayStation to a router and I can't unsee either now. 

 

Also, partisan console fanboys may well be the worst of all fanboys. It's just a simplified pc, they've both got basically identical components, they'll play exactly the ****ing same just like every other generation. 

 

Console "wars" are just you getting suckered in to marketing ploys you weirdos.
