G0d damn, only on FT could we be signing an elite talent like Castagne and people would be complaining because he can play too many positions.

Is he an international standard Goalkeeper as well?...

If not...

Bin!

No chance.

Unless he signs a new contract in the next 12 months though, he may well be off next summer as he'll only have 2 years left on his current deal.

Don’t get me wrong, he’s a good player and I know he can be ‘effective’ at LB, but I’d just rather we signed a quality ‘out-and-out’ LB to play the position ala Telles, Tagliafico etc.

That being said I’ll take this over Matt Targett any day of the week lol

Who’d have thought that the transfer of Doherty to Spuds would be the domino effect that would start the process of our first incoming transfer, if it goes through.

Just goes to show how complex transfers are in this day and age and our fans need to chill the feck out...

Tbh, neither Telles nor Tagliafico felt like Leicester signings to me.

1 goal and 2 assists in 19 starts as a wing back in a free scoring Atalanta side. Got to be more productive natural full backs out there.

Peak FT this lol

There may be more natural productive ones but:

1) they may cost more

2) they may not want to come here

3) they may want to go to other clubs/stay at their current clubs

We are not like a club in fifa or fm where you can edit budgets or take over other clubs and force a sale through.

Yes he does

I meant from compared to when chilwell was here? He’s not a stronger RB or winger compared to what we have.

Why do people think we could sign Telles, Tagliafico or Gosens over teams in the champions league?

Finishing 5th messes our plans up royally.

Not sure how I feel on this one. Looks a decent if unspectacular pro. Bit like Dennis or Albrighton. Not opposed to the signing at the reported £15mil but would personally have preferred an out and out LB. Also not sure what this means for JJ if this is to replace Riccy when he leaves next year potentially, would’ve thought he JJ would thought he’d have a decent chance of being our starting LB then.

What would 'feel' like a Leicester signing?

Ryan McGivern?

Served the club right for not backing Rodgers in January ! If you can get Tieliemans on loan the season before when your sat in mid table ! There must of been 1 or 2 out there they could of got on loan and helped them get over the line.

even if we had finished  4th, a lot of these players wouldn’t come here just for one season in the CL - they know we aren’t serial qualifiers .....

So you think he is both worse than JJ at RB and worse than Luke at LB?

The point I was trying to make was, does he improve or even match the quality of our strongest 11 last season?

Yeah maybe but you attract a few of them and we could have been in the mix.

Don’t be obtuse, JJ, Maddison, are more the sort of thing. Younger with good resale value.

Romantic it ain’t, but it’s a model we know works and are likely to persist with regardless who is manager or scouting the players.

He improves the squad substantially and is extremely flexible positionally- allowing WB should we go 3 at the back (assuming more CBS come in of course)

In terms of LB,I suspect yes, he would improve us at that position in the short to mid term whilst Luke grows as a player

Castagne's 24. If we tie him down to a 5-year deal now, he'll have plenty of resale value at 26 with 3 years left, especially if he does as well here as he has at Atalanta.

Yes, that was my point - he does whereas Telles or Tagliafico do not
