As much as people will probably be dicks about this, it really is a shit thing to happen and probably very scary for himself and his family.

Hope they catch the fvckers that did it.

yeah. I mean I'll be the first to say I think Dele is a bit of cvnt and is one of the most dislikable people in football. But on the other hand, I've never met the guy so my view of him is pretty much irrelevant. Not a nice thing to happen to anyone, very scary experience for him. Hope they catch the fckers involved.

Make no mistake, this is a horrible and nasty crime.  I wouldn't wish it on anyone.  I hope the offenders get caught, it's unlikely it's the first time they've done something like this and unlikely to be the last.

I'm not being funny but with the money he is on, especially after having had this happen once before, I would be investing a few weeks wages in the absolute top of the line security system, gates, walls, the lot and maybe even hire a security guard to sit out front and take any deliveries etc. so no one could get near my house unless I knew them.

Moat, with 20 foot electric fence around the whole thing.....i could get real crazy if i had money to spend on fortifying my home with tech,  wild animals, fulltime zookeeper, sharpshooters, Jules Winnfield, strippers, armoured vehicles, shady derelict building to torture criminals etc.

This crap is scary  no matter who it is, that's his home where his family lives. It's never cool to attack anyone in their home for your pathetic criminal tingz. Hope they catch the fookers and make them wear his full kit in jail.

He's been quoted as saying he was involved with gangs at a young age - probably some link between the two, I'd have thought. Whenever a football is  robbed there's usually a connection to a murkier world present.

Police asked him "Did they steal your cups?"

Alli replied " No, they didn't go in the kitchen"

Usually a connection? I don't think that's necessarily true, they're just incredibly wealthy. Off the top of my head I can think of Crouch, Gerrard, Di Maria, Rooney, Heskey that have been robbed and I don't think any of those players had any particular connections to a criminal underworld.

Yes, you're perhaps right; maybe I am generalising.

Hard not to dwell in Schadenfreude here. But yeah, I wouldn't want this to happen to anyone.

I've been victim to a burglary myself and the feeling of helplessness is quite numbing.

Where's the Schadenfreude?

Yeah, and the guy has the money to make this kind of thing near impossible at his house but it’s happened for a second time somehow. Crazy really.

Alli isn't really the most likable of characters in football, a young, and sometimes still immature attention-seeker.

To me, he's still more famous for rolling over on football pitches than for playing football.

Thrust into the limelight too quickly, ill-advised.

Maybe this is the wake-up call for him to stop playacting and start life as a more grown-up person.

What's his play-acting got to do with the burglary?

Who he is and how he behaves on a football pitch is completely irrelevant. No one deserves to go through what he has.

It this was a Southampton or a Norwich player for example, everyone would be expressing their sympathy but because it's Dele Alli he's somehow fair game.

I'm not saying he deserves it, just based on his past, I have less sympathy than I'd have with other players.

If your Southampton or Norwich player had a history of behaving like a dick on and off the pitch just like Alli, then yeah, the reaction would be the same.
