If he's on a reasonable wage (which he likely won't be) we should be all over Jan Vertonghen. Definitely has a couple of years in him. Left footed centre half that can playwith the ball at his feet. Would allow us to use 3 at the back. Great back up.

Can also fill in at left back.

Edit; Wait, I misread :P

Edit 2; I'm confused now. Is he retained until the end of the season and then being released?

What a fall from grace for Jordon Ibe.

Out of those, Fraser is the obvious one or maybe Jeff Hendrick as a left-field squad signing (it might rile a few Rams too). If the rumoured interest from AC Milan is genuine, though, I imagine he'd be off there like a shot.

Would take a punt on Ryan Fraser from Bournemouth. Would not think he would be on massive wages there. Not going to be the answer to our wide berth issues but a good squad player with experience and likely to be more consistent than Gray. Otherwise it is pretty slim pickings in terms of frees. Still think we should go for Lallana. might give us the steel we seem to lack in midfield at the moment where we could do with an older head to steady the ship and calm things down a bit.

Pretty sure reports were saying Fraser want £100k a week. That's a huge wage for someone who downed tools for a year and has done little of worth.

I remember a time when we used to look at these Premier League released list, and get excited about the freebies you could pick up.

Fraser is a position we need but no better than what we already have IMO, I'd take a look at Vertonghen if he doesn't stay at Spurs but I think his wages will be ridiculous for someone who might not be first choice, I think Lallana will join us.

I imagine a newly promoted side will pick up Ibe, despite the fact he's been shit most of his career.

Leicester City
Released: Faiq Bolkiah, Rhys Davies, Edward Elewa-Ikpakwu, Viktor Johansson, Justen Kranthove, Ryan Loft, Conor Tee, George Thomas

Though only indirect....when you look at this list and the squad what strikes you..????

we have brought on and bought some young players over these last few Good club years..but not One of those really young investments we have seen mentioned over these last 2-6years have made any capital breakthrough..Names have come through thick & fast, but percentage wise our developement Coaching staff have not been earning their keep..!!

Our turn over is miserable, few have even been near or reached the first team quality,or grabbed up by any top 2 leagues, and

seen making a substantial career...we have had  those immediate targets, who have driven forward, but their Base Quality was already well projected & known...Barnes,Chilwell,Gray,Justin,Soyuncu,why has our future talent like Leshabela ,Kaputska, faided so fast...Including 2 young G.keepers..I

Manutd can afford to carry many mishits...we are Financial slightly better off than some clubs ,but we cant afford the mishits we have had...

Its time our reserve/developement/Academy system, were put under some scrutiny...They Havent been able to push many of their charges/wards forward..!!

If that's the case then no chance. for that sort of weekly wedge we need a nailed on starter who is going to offer a lot more than we already have. I know these days of over inflated salaries it doesnt get you much and we are not exactly paupers but neither are we bankrolled by a country

"Short  term contact" would suggest he stays for a bit longer then gets released.

Not sure if they can give out short term deals then decide later on or whether they've already decided. A bit like King with us.

Jeff Hendrick released!?

I think he keeps rejecting a new contract.

He's not a bad player actually. Can see a lower end PL side / top end Championship side going for him.

Surely some of these must be pending contract negotiations? Ryan Fraser for one is excellent.

Also, I see Joe Hart is so crap they released him twice.

Fraser has said he's going definitely.

Fraser, Lallana, Soares are the only ones we should be considering, i'd also look to pick up Jeremy Ngakia for development purposes.

Fraser is apparently after £100k a week, I would take Lallana, Soares is joining Arsenal on a 4 year deal, Ngakia is after first team football and £20k a week minimum

i'll leave the negotiations to Rudkin, shame about Soares i'm sure he's kept Ricardo out of the Portugal line up?

Unless already agreed, then surely some of those who have been given extensions to the end of the season could still re-sign? i noticed that whilst Mendy has so far only been offered/agreed a short term extension it also states that a further year extension is currently being considered?

We know that Lallana, Fraser and our own Andy king amongst others on the other hand have publicly declared that they will be free agents for next season.
