i'll leave the negotiations to Rudkin, shame about Soares i'm sure he's kept Ricardo out of the Portugal line up?

I think recently it has been Cancelo (Man City) and Semedo (Barcelona) keeping him out, however I believe Ricardo actually got called up for the last round of international games in place of Semedo, meaning his main rival for the position is Cancelo

Cedric hasn't played for Portugal since 2018 so looks like his international career is likely done

One’s a midfielder, one’s a striker...

I thought they both came to Leicester as Strikers, with Thomas being in the Vardy mould, I don’t think their is a striker in the world who is in the Vardy mould...

Leicester City
Released: Faiq Bolkiah, Rhys Davies, Edward Elewa-Ikpakwu, Viktor Johansson, Justen Kranthove, Ryan Loft, Conor Tee, George Thomas

Retained: Wes Morgan, Eldin Jakupovic, Christian Fuchs (one-year contracts), Andy King, Papy Mendy (short-term extensions)

Though only indirect....when you look at this list and the squad what strikes you..????

we have brought on and bought some young players over these last few Good club years..but not One of those really young investments we have seen mentioned over these last 2-6years have made any capital breakthrough..Names have come through thick & fast, but percentage wise our developement Coaching staff have not been earning their keep..!!

Our turn over is miserable, few have even been near or reached the first team quality,or grabbed up by any top 2 leagues, and

seen making a substantial career...we have had  those immediate targets, who have driven forward, but their Base Quality was already well projected & known...Barnes,Chilwell,Gray,Justin,Soyuncu,why has our future talent like Leshabela ,Kaputska, faided so fast...Including 2 young G.keepers..I

Manutd can afford to carry many mishits...we are Financial slightly better off than some clubs ,but we cant afford the mishits we have had...

Its time our reserve/developement/Academy system, were put under some scrutiny...They Havent been able to push many of their charges/wards forward..!!

It takes a player of real quality to make it playing for a side with European ambitions. To have even Barnes, Chilwell and Hamza in the first team picture while we're third in the league is a decent return considering we're also buying players for £30-40m a pop.

There are so many prospects that unfortunately the vast majority don't make the grade. Some will go on and forge good careers lower down the pyramid. Some will fall away entirely. Others may develop more slowly and reach the very top with another club, in a different environment, with different coaches later on in their careers.

It's not an exact science. Some coaches will get more from different players at different stages of their careers and lives. There are just so many variables. I think we're doing OK if I'm honest.

Regarding the keepers, it looks like Viktor Johansson was only brought in to replace Daniel Iversen while Iversen went on loan to Oldham last season. Iversen's gone out again, to Rotherham this time, and from what little I know, I think he's impressed. I wonder if this signifies that we're planning for Iversen to challenge Ward for a spot on the bench or even play a few cup games? I could be wrong. He may go out on loan again, and we could promote an U18 keeper or bring another one in, who knows?

Not disagreeing with you..

Bit in the old days,we had a Good turn around of players, from the old Reserves Set up...Supporters knew and seen players make it to the First Team and leave

towards a Good solid longer career...The Ratio of  Good Basic Quality seemed higher....The last few years we have young players from around the world, their names pushed by  the clubs media, but they Stay 2-6 years in anonominity..just brushing getting on the bench..no 4-6 players pushing through,to even having cameos..!!

Pretty sure reports were saying Fraser want £100k a week. That's a huge wage for someone who downed tools for a year and has done little of worth.

Fraser is apparently after £100k a week, I would take Lallana, Soares is joining Arsenal on a 4 year deal, Ngakia is after first team football and £20k a week minimum

He can ask for whatever he wants, doesn’t mean he’s going to get it or a £5m signing on fee.

How many clubs would be willing and able to give the above?

In the EPL?  I'm sure he won't be short of suitors, clubs liek the West Ham's and Everton's of this world love to throw senseless money at pretty average players.

Apart from the man utd class of 92 when did any club ever bring through practically a whole side from their academy?  It seems that that clubs, and their fans, only seem to rate young players being brought in from abroad. No wonder our national team is so far behind.

Not sure if this is a culture thing within the game or an issue with the grass roots youth coaching in this country.

There is no shortage of kids playing on the park across the road from me but I do wonder if our scouting systems are just not looking any more.

Lineker and Dublin were both "discovered" playing for Aylestone park, heskey playing for local school sides. Surely there is talent out there if we look for it?

Yep can see him going Arsenal/West Ham/Everton out of desperation on their behalf. For that fee and wages it’s a no from me, especially as he’s somewhat downed tools this season.

Barcelona at one point had a full 11 that had come through their academy all on the pitch.

I'd highlight that our national team is partially left behind through the management appointed and tactics utilised rather than lack of talent. We have a pretty promising set of young players.

I'd assume we have scouts watching teams play across the country, rather than focusing on watching kids in a park.
