If it was ever about fairness they'd be a reasonable cap on the spending.

It makes me laugh that there was such an outrage about the Super League, yet all the new introductions to the champions League like historic coifficent and the new qualification system are quietly implemented without any fuss.

I will always say it's the biggest myth in football history that our Premier League win inspired others. It was used as a benchmark by the elite to do everything they can from stopping it ever happening again.

...it would have inspired many clubs, the fact that people in dark corners were conspiring to undermine them was something that they could not control!!!

I'm not even arsed anymore. Fvck the top 4 off and let them chase money. Top flight can be level playing again.

Promote 4 clubs to replace them, work it all the way down the pymarid so 4 teams get out of non league.

They're going to have their cake and eat it too and there's not much we can do about it.

But the myth kept being pushed by pundits that we were inspiring other teams when they fully well knew what was being implemented to keep the big six exactly what it was.

Don't tell me Gary Neville doesn't realise how FFP keeps all those sides as the best and closes the door on teams like us after having one bad window. The difference is a super league was pushing it a bit too far but no one really wants a Leicester or a West Brom pushing for the Champions League at sky sports. It made for a great story as a one off, but it isn't box office every season.

Chop the big 5/6/7 or whatever it is these days off at the knees… let them go play in a “big” league with the other “big” European clubs …. I hanker for the days of actually winning something tangible not just who has the most money  …. I personally never watch the champions league (apart from 1 season) as I find it all a bit samey… Our league will be more competitive and better for it …. IMO of course

...what about those players looking to go to the super league!!!

It is all very well having a league where we are all the same, but the quality is going to be looking to go elsewhere. You will also have  teams looking to rule the roost, it is human nature.

I agree.  Wouldn't miss them, and If I want to watch Spurs play Bruges FC I can find it somewhere.

I saw someone complaining about ffp being too stringent on talk sport. Why are the outrageous sums of money floating around football not enough for some people.  just laughable that some bloke phones in that probably can’t pay his energy bills and without irony is moaning that his club can’t spend more money

Give me a salary cap and transfer limit any day of the week.

I quite like how la liga clubs have to really think about their transfers because of the restrictions… even more funny that clubs like barca still completely screw it up. If only it was stricter!

Personally I don't care, if owners of clubs want to spend vast amounts of money then let them. I like how TV revenue is more evenly split and it has allowed clubs to not get lowballed when the elite want their players. Also the wealth of some clubs means other clubs benefit hugely from selling players for such obscene fees and those who know what to do with it can really grow as a result.

limit ticket and shirt prices at £20 and i’d be fully with you but it does slip down to the fans. We will also start to see quite a few historical clubs going completely bust over the next decade. Won’t take much to completely rodger someone

It’s far worse where I am though so can’t complain too much.  The cheapest Toronto ticket is about £90 🙃 same sort of price for a kit

...it is pretty much unsustainable!!!

Your Chelsea's of this world throwing their money around only inflates the market. This carries on and you will have a generic game, where more people see attending a local game more true to their needs as opposed to a commercialised homogeneous game.

I read that they have Lord Pannick KC representing them (Lord Calme being tied up).

He charges a mere £80,000 per day...

But this probably includes paying staff, Premier league officials and judges etc.

Report said " roughly the same as KDB",

Kevins is made up of £250,000 direct transfer and £150,000 cash in a brown envelope..😐

For me, none of the other 'Big 6' would side with Man City?

Newcastle - yes, they want to invest as much money as quickly as possible but are still cautious at the moment and watching with interest as they don't want to push it through a route which goes against the rules. You could argue that with Man City out of the way they genuinely have a crack at winning a title against Arsenal even in future seasons.

Liverpool - With City out of the way they could potentially be handed another title from 2013/14 and would see a rival down if they could pick up form.

Manchester United - could be handed two additional titles and are never in risk of breaching FFP rules with dodgy investing as all money is self generated. Only caveat is if this middle east firm invests.

Spurs - play everything by the book and on a tight budget with Levy. Could easily sue for several seasons of missed CL revenue.

Arsenal - again, play by the book spending self generated funds and would see their main rival this season out of the way.

Chelsea would be the only one which I suppose would rather they could invest without consequence and no other risk/threat from City.

Yes..though we have a love hate type of relationship with those North London rivals...

I respect them because they mainly play by the book with off-field club work. and on their decent finances, but not astronomical they can challenge/compete against the big boys...Normally I would hate Arsenal winning anything....but they are playing damn good football..for Spurs they have those nasty days, but can turn on the style,no matter what era they play..

We are the last to talk about bottlers, because Leicester fans would love a period covering/  compared with  their last 10yrs..They both have more financial clout & a great cache area than us...& Few things untoward...

They are just plonkers...but that's acceptable...

This has been going on decades, its just now a play ground for richer and richer corporations / individuals.

The only inflated market is PL teams, we get absolutely hammered by every established league when it comes to signing their players. The PL tax must be running between 20-30% or more.

The commercialised game isn't because of this, it represents modern popularity and having salary caps and other restrictions wouldn't make a blind bit of difference.

If fans want sustained reform and change then there would have to be some huge intervention that put the decision making and ownership in to the hands of the fans and that's never going to happen.

Is that inline with other MLS teams prices?
