He might not be perfect tactically but his balance of motivation, loyalty and sternness is absolutely fantastic. 

 

I always found that nige said what people were thinking and that just showed how aware of the situations surrounding him he was. If he was a little more tactful, he would have found a fantastic job after us and probably pushed on. 

 

I think he’s just not built for how commercial the sport has become. If he’d been managing 20-30 years ago I’m sure he would have been that good.

 

But the amount of time managers are given and the autonomy they have has reduced significantly. Fans expect sackings when results are poor and owners tend to give into that. It’s particularly difficult for Nigel because his style upsets a lot of fans, players and business people because he’s not a bullshitter. He tells people the truth and a lot of people don’t want to hear it. He isn’t going to be diplomatic enough with owners to keep his job - and have the authority he needs - long enough to build strong squads. I really do believe that in any other era he’d have gone down as one of the best managers around, not just of Leicester City.

No but you suggested that taking managers back is a bad idea and Nigel Pearson is all the evidence you need to know that’s not always valid.

Yes this would be amazing, Nigel in charge of appointing managers and deciding how much time they get would be absolutely perfect.

There's nothing like a topic on FT that involves big Nige to cheer me up. Next to MoN he has to be my favourite all time City manager. Lifted the gloom won two titles and built our Premier league winning squad and in all honesty wouldve probably won us the prem had he stayed.

Massive respect and would have him and shakie back in a heartbeat.

I do trust him to do what's right for us.

 

We would not be in this sithe hole if he was on board. Hes sorted out our mess before.

I'm not being sarcastic, if it was just his choice it could only be good for the football club.
