remarkably small number of low risk bad signings

also will point out a lot of the 'bad signings' were pretty good players

Bad Signings

Nicky Adams 2008/09 - really rated him for us tbh very harsh imo

Wayne Brown 2008/09 - was good for us shame about the fascism

Robbie Neilson 2009/10 -

Yann Kermorgant 2009/10 - quality championship player, shame about that moment

James Vaughan 2009/10

Ryan McGivern 2009/10

Tom Kennedy 2010/11

Nathan Delfouneso 2011/12

Marco Futacs 2012/13

Harry Kane 2012/13 - world class player just not at the time

Jesse Lingard 2012/13 - PL player just did not work out

Zoumana Bakayogo 2013/14

Ignasi Miquel 2013/14

Tom Lawrence 2014/15 - quality championship player

Ben Hamer 2014/15

Nick Powell 2014/15

from the above there is not a single from my reckoning big signing other than kermorgant

I think it's fair to say that Pearson knew how to build a squad. The man made more good signings in one season than Rodgers has made in his career.

Said multiple times I'm a fan of Pearson lol Couldn't think of anything worse than being a vegan! Wasn't old enough to vote when the referendum took place so that's nothing to do with me, I'll admit I am a fan of personal hygiene though :D

@Sol thewall BambaStill don't understand what you're implying mate?

Maybe it was then, but I just don't understand why he'd premeditate an act that brings bad press to himself and the club and ultimately be a factor in why he was sacked. Furthermore, would he have known that that question was going to be asked?

Either way, I wouldn't change any of the series of events that took place given what followed. Just can imagine if any of the other managers we've had since Pearson had done that then the fans' opinion on it would most likely be different.

🤣

fair play mate. I kind of double checked my post as it seemed far too harsh looking back. So thanks for taking it in the way it was meant

Wow as you say that they scored. Maybe you do know what you’re talking about 🤔

Hope so but they have such a small squad. I think mid table would be good and anything above that a big overachievement. Would love him to get them up and then play us.

He’ll turn Bristol City around. Mark my words

Feel sorry for Bristol. Just as they’re about to improve we swoop in and take their manager. Football is a cruel game, just hope they can recover.

Less possession than the opposition. (Albeit fairly even, a 10% difference)

More goal attempts than the opposition.

As many shots on target.

More shots.

More blocked shots.

More free kicks.

More tackles.

More attacks.

More dangerous attacks.

Win 2-0.

Write that down in your notepad. Effective football.

Pearson’s got Bristol City playing some decent football and is changing the culture at the club; however,  they’ve probably given up just as many late goals to drop points as us over the last two years. Constantly happens to them.
