Leicester vs Birmingham - Match Thread (Pre-Season)

Recommended Posts

Hall had a good goal but a mistake almost resulted in the team conceding if not for Banjo stopping the shot.

He needs more playing time in the next game

Edit: I mean Banko not "Banjo" but won't change it. :D

When was it changed and why?

Birmingham didn't have as many fit an available as they were expecting. They played a couple of days ago so perhaps recovery hadn't gone as well as expected.

Also heard the commentator say that they didn't have a keeper on the bench. Seem like they were a bit light in players

It all looked very similar to the second half of last season, tons of possession, very neat on the ball, but very little end product

We won 2-0 so a little different. I guess when you are x2 goals up its better to keep possesion than take chances and risk the other team scoring.

Some good youngsters there who aren’t a million miles away. Muskwe, Eppiah, KDH and Tavares all look tk have something about them.

There's a bit of Wenger's arsenal about our u23s. First time I've ever watched most of them.

Like arsenals old.league cup teams, They all look bright and useful, but probably when taken away from the elite level training and comfortable facilities, it can quickly fade

poor pen but he’s done well Muskwe

..knew he was not going to score!!!

As soon as the pen was given I was shouting not Muskwe, anyone else but him.

He takes a poor penalty, always has and last season he was fighting with Hirst as to who would take a pen, he stepped up and it was saved.

He should be banned from taking them, just instruct the team that he is not an option

..you could see we needed someone like Ovie Ejaria or Odsonne Edouard in the team!!!

We played a lot where the player was passing in the direction that he was facing and no one seemed capable of picking the ball up and taking on a player.

Barnes laboured to create the openings and he tended to have 3 men to beat in order to supply the pass or attempt to go on his own. With a ball player he wouldn't have to be marshalled like that as he would be the one being put clear by Ejaria or Edouard. Barnes need to play inside supporting the main striker, £19.5m for Eze would have seriously benefited our team.
