Considering the fact he compared himself to an imprisoned slave here, i dont quite think he considers this "home".

Not wanting to go over it all again.... but... He signed his own contract

Assuming either were an option, which one would you sign?

Any danger a local reporter could dare ask Rodgers about transfers and the absence of certain players from pre-season or naah?

Chances are said local reporters know what's going on - but have to protect their access to the club by keeping quiet for now.

Feels lke a movie I've seen before. It would be insane to give Rodgers full control of transfers. This is where his ego can become a real problem.

As if Rodgers signed a new contract without knowing the score on transfers. Social Media alows any clown to print rubbish and this fella is yet another one of them.

He signed new deals at both Liverpool and Celtic under the same pretences and similar situations unfolded tbf. If someone says they are going to double your wage to £200k or thereabouts per week your going to sign it regardless I imagine.

Lets be clear here Rodgers needs Leicester as much as they need him despite what his ego will tell him. He makes an arse of this and starts rubbing his bosses up the wrong way again he’s done in the premier league.

Like many have said there’s little credence on what Rodgers done at Celtic outside Scotland.

Could buy into the theory that the Ownership were alarmed and annoyed at the teams capitulation after December. Has cost the club a lot of money. Are you suggesting Brendan is engineering a dispute?

This is a really good point. He's known for bottling Liverpool's title attempt and our CL place in the Prem more than anything. If he doesn't produce decent progress and results for us, its going to be difficult to get another decent opportunity

No, please do not give him the pleasure of making some sense!

He has no inside info and is just speculating. Why do people give him such attention.

I made reference to this last week but Albert claimed either that or players quarantining was bull shit. I'm not so sure.

Problem is clubs hold so much power these days over the local press - it's such a huge source of web traffic for these papers that to get locked out of the club through reporting something it won't like will hurt the paper more than it will the club. They simply can't afford to break negative stories.

That's no doubt why situations like Bury's and Charlton's have been allowed to become what they have, because that key level of press aren't really reporting on the situation until the shit really hits the fan.

I'd lean towards the initial point being BS, given the squads we've seen in pre-season.

There are no jobs in the pl for rodgers... he has to have success at Leicester.

If I was top I would be unhappy with the post lock down form.   What bredan needs to do is to put down a plan.... costed. If you top thinks it is worth the risk he should fund it. Every year players are getting more and more expensive... the soon we make the step the better

That step is not achievable over one or two seasons - it would have to be achieved over a 10 year period and given the level of competition we face, it's unrealistic to think that this is possible considering our current base level.

To be considered a proper Champions League level club, we'd have to play in the competition something like 3 out of 5 seasons and see progression in the competition to the Quarter-Finals at least a couple of times - that's what taking the step would involve. Just hitting it for one season isn't enough, we would have to be achieving top 4 league finishes repeatedly.

But more than that, we'd also need to be showing income levels that match the clubs in our league competing for Champions League domestically - we're still a long way off that.

Granted, we're a lot closer than most and have made terrific strides as a club, but we are a long way from taking that next step. Just consider how long it took Spurs to open the "big 4 bracket" to become the "top 6" and they haven't even won anything.

Ok, Manchester City managed to make the jump quicker - but they threw serious money at it and arguably at a time whilst it was still cost effective to do so. For us to throw money at it now, when those we're competing against can do the same just doesn't feel the answer - even if we had the cash to do so.

The other thing that also needs to be considered in making that step is that short-term success may need to be sacrificed for the benefit of longer term gains.

As you highlight, players are getting more and more expensive and we don't have the commercial revenue to compete in the transfer market when compared to our rivals - indeed, we're reliant on selling our assets.

So not only is that a massive hindrance to our ambitions - especially as it's been our direct competitors that we've been selling these assets too - it also means we will need to continue to develop assets and playing players that are not the ready made article in an effort to make them that - ultimately meaning making that next giant leap will take significant time and patience from us as a fan base.

It's not beyond the realms of possibility though, Rodgers ahs previous for this then you add in the lack of activity in the window thus far and you could see some sense in it. If Rodgers was happy working within the current recruitment structure all along then why bring in his mate, the almighty twat that is Congerton.
