Goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is in contention to earn his 54th and 55th caps for Denmark as Kasper Hjulmand's men face Belgium and England in the Nations League group stage. The Danes are first in action at Parken against Belgium on Saturday 5 September (7:45pm kick-off), before also hosting the Three Lions on Tuesday 8 September (7:45pm kick-off). Schmeichel last appeared for his country in a 1-1 draw with Republic of Ireland in November, enabling them to qualify for UEFA EURO 2020, which is now set for next summer. Elsewhere, midfielders Youri Tielemans and Dennis Praet could come up against the Foxes shot-stopper when their Belgium side travel to Copenhagen. After tackling Denmark on the preceding Saturday, the Red Devils entertain Iceland at King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels on Tuesday 8 September (7:45pm kick-off). Tielemans has represented Belgium 28 times, including at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, while Praet has earned six caps, most recently in a 6-1 success over Cyprus in November. Centre-back Çağlar Söyüncü, on the other hand, is also in line for a double-header of Nations League outings as Turkey tackle Hungary and Serbia. On Thursday 3 September, Söyüncü and his international team-mates host the Hungarians (7:45pm kick-off), before facing Serbia, away, on Sunday 6 September (7:45pm kick-off). Praet and Tielemans could appear alongside one another against Schmeichel this summer. The 24-year-old has made 17 of his 28 appearances for The Crescent-Stars since joining the Foxes in the summer of 2018 and was integral to their successful EURO qualification campaign. Defensive Leicester colleague Jonny Evans is also in contention for Northern Ireland in Nations League encounters with Romania and Norway over the coming weeks. Ian Baraclough's side are in Bucharest on Friday 4 September (7:45pm kick-off), before returning to Windsor Park for a fixture against Norway on Monday 7 September (7:45pm kick-off). Evans, the second most decorated player in Northern Irish football history, currently stands on 84 caps for his country after making his debut 14 years ago. Wales goalkeeper Danny Ward, meanwhile, has been selected by Ryan Giggs as the Dragons travel to Finland on Thursday 3 September (7:45pm kick-off). A 0-0 draw with the Netherlands in November was Evans' last international outing. Following that clash in Helsinki, Wales return to the UK to host Bulgaria in Cardiff on Sunday 6 September (2pm kick-off) as Ward looks to add to his seven international appearances. In youth team football, meanwhile, James Justin could feature as England's Under-21s head to Pristina City Stadium to tackle Kosovo (6pm kick-off) next Friday. The Young Lions - top of their U21 qualification group after four games - then travel to Keine Sorgen Arena to face Austria on Tuesday 8 September (7:30pm kick-off). Finally, Development Squad striker Josh Eppiah has also been selected for potential Belgium Under-21s action against Germany on Tuesday 8 September at OHL's Den Dreef (3pm kick-off) Don't forget to check back to LCFC.com throughout early September for news on how all of the Club's players fare while away with their nations. davieG 17,018 Posted 3 September 2020 Author Report Share Posted 3 September 2020 Jonny Evans has not travelled with Northern Ireland ahead of their UEFA Nations League match against Romania on Friday. The squad flew out to Bucharest on Thursday afternoon ahead of Ian Baraclough's first game in charge since he succeeded Michael O'Neill in April. But Leicester defender Evans was not in the travelling party, dealing a further blow to Baraclough, who is already without Sunderland defender Tom Flanagan. Flanagan withdrew last week for personal reasons, with Arsenal's 20-year-old defender Daniel Ballard called up in his place. Ballard, who played for the Under-21s under Baraclough, was called up by O'Neill for last year's Euro 2020 qualifiers against Estonia and Belarus but is yet to make his senior debut. After Friday's match, Northern Ireland will return to Belfast ahead of Monday's game against Norway. https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/northern-ireland/uefa-nations-league/team-news/team-news-jonny-evans-will-not-represent-northern-ireland-against-romania_412795.html

foxinsocks 1,512 Posted 4 September 2020 Report Share Posted 4 September 2020 (edited) Gareth Southgate learned that Maguire was guilty and so removed him from the squad. Yet when he apealed his guilty verdict was set aside - so why didn't southgate ("the brain") let him back in? Turns out that England players will be retested for c19 every where they go - I bet one is bound to be +ve. As will be the case for all other international teams -they will all end up back at clubs isolating. And this is all coz the national FAs want the money!!! #stopinternationalfootball Edited 4 September 2020 by foxinsocks

Well, what happens is he gets chosen to be part of the squad and then when the game comes round he then doesn't actually play. 1
