I could listen to him for ages

He's very engaging. Got a quick wit about him too.

Can tell he's matured a bit and is comfortable in his own skin.

We're lucky to have him.

What did he ask?

Neville said something along the lines of people suggesting that Maddison could potentially be an unsettling character amongst the England squad

Utterly bizarre and Madders looked genuinely offended

Rightly so. I know you don't want to just hear the normal shit from players but he was giving so much more than you get from almost any other player, what is the need ask that?

He said that it's been suggested that Maddison would be a bad squad player for England if he wasn't a starter. Basically insinuating that there are questions over his character if he's not in the first 11

He’s gonna break our hearts in the summer, he deserves to play in Europe I’m afraid.

It's tragically inevitable. I just hope he goes abroad.

In hindsight that interview might turn out to have forced Southgate's hand somewhat.

Granted, the question was shiit but I think Neville genuinely wants Maddison to go to the WC.

27 goals and assists since last season. Wipes the floor with all the other English players he's competing against.

Not looked at the stats but surely even Foden isn't posting those kind of numbers is he?

He deserves to play for England and quite frankly they need him as he offers something a bit different. He may not be the athletic specimen of the likes of mount or foden but his intelligence and technical ability is as good as anyone. He is bang on form and getting goals and assists.

I don’t know how Mount even gets spoke about like some mega player Maddison is much the better player
