Trabzonspor sign Diabaté on permanent deal

Recommended Posts

He’s got talent, for sure. Can confidently say he would have offered any less than Gray over the last couple of seasons.

The Turkish league isn’t the worst standard in Europe (seem to have a couple that do alright in the Europa League most seasons) and he’s obviously impressed there.

As others have said, wouldn’t be surprised to see him get a move to a bigger European league at a decent price point in future years.

Also from that forum they have paid 1.5 million euros with a 15% sell on clause. At least that's what I gathered.

Ah that makes the figures bandied around make a bit more sense then.

Transfermarkt report £1.4m, Guardian report £2.7m.

So £1.5m + sell ons is pretty decent, especially considering we apparently signed him for £1.8m. Means with loan fees factored in too we've probably made a small profit on him.

Best of luck to the lad, will be keeping an eye on how he does over there 👍

Agree. I thought he was a decent player with quick feet. Not sure why he was never given a chance. Puel rated him I thought and he sent him on loan to develop him not to rid of him. When Rodgers came in, he didn’t give players on loan another chance. Slimani and Silva went out on loan because they for one reason or another could not make it here - not for Diabetes. He could have offered something more than Gray at least.
