Sadly no. I just checked all accounts.

This man has basically ignored my instruction and done something to cause himself a nasty injury but it seems that the law is on his side.

Spoke with a friend of a friend who is a barrister dealing with these types of claim and he said we're done for. Even if we were to win the case and prove his lies we would still be liable for costs which could amount to over a hundred thousand. if we lose then we're basically bankrupt...

These no win no fee systems are incredibly cruel, as a defendant we lose either way. I'm going to see a specialist solicitor tomorrow (£200 per hour)

****** hell mate. Genuinely, all the very best to you. Sounds unimaginably cruel. Take as much professional advice and experience as you can and try to stay level headed.

That's what I believed but barrister says otherwise. I'm speaking with solicitor tomorrow so will take this information and ask.

Thanks for taking the time to find this, much appreciated.

That’s my advice, talk to an actual lawyer - a good one who costs a bit of money and comes with recommendations. A specialist.

My feeling is you win this with witnesses but you kill this with a counterclaim. But I’m a know nothing bloke who shouldn’t venture opinions outside his sphere of experience and knowledge.

I agree, but the situation should never have arisen. It occurred because somebody decided to let a boy run in a girls' event. That was unfair on everybody involved, including Aayden Gallagher.

Not brilliant. Everyone I spoke with said pretty much the same thing. There’s a very slim chance of a win, costs to me around £150,000.
A loss with partial blame, costs to me around £600,000.
Full loss, costs to me up to £1.3 million

Speaking with another barrister later in the week, supposed to be one of the best in the country. 30 min phone consultation, £450 + vat

I’m hoping the more I spend at this stage, the better the outcome.
Thanks for the concern, I feel pretty crap atm.

**** sake, sorry to hear that. Very good move speaking to the renowned barrister, praying he can help you. Keep messaging on here if it makes you feel better, or not if it doesn’t. Goes without saying DMs are open, replies will ALWAYS be same day

Been reading the last couple of pages and can only hope things get better especially after the chat with specialist counsel.

Too many shows are 1hour, 1 hour + per episode now rather than like 30mins.

Indeed. Though if the show is good enough you don't notice too much.

There are some that go the other way like Young Sheldon which made you wait once a week for each episode and then were only 15-20 mins. Was over just as you relaxed into watching it.

Not sure how i feel about this...  potentially a large damage to local wildlife and habitats.... but what's the alternative?:nigel:

Angela Rayner has announced that sites for new "towns of the future" will be unveiled by the end of a Labour government's first year in power.

Labour's deputy leader and shadow housing secretary said creating new towns was a key part of her party's plan to build 1.5 million homes over five years.

Ms Rayner hopes the private sector will be persuaded to fund the new towns, which will have to include 40% affordable housing.

But Conservative Party Chairman Richard Holden said Labour had failed to build any new towns during its last term in office.

With planning permission for new homes falling to a record low last year, Ms Rayner has also pledged to reintroduce housing targets in England and reform the planning system.

The National Housing Federation says local objections "remain a significant barrier" to new housing developments.

Thinking about the water pollution/sewage in rivers in the UK outcry, wonder how much we've consumed in our lives have contained a tiny percentage of faeces..

I was playing tennis on Humberstone Park earlier and there was an awful sewage type pong in that corner of the park. A river runs through that park but I didn't check if the nasty whiff was coming from there.

I think it has quietened down a little because most professional sports bodies have come to their senses.  You are right though there is plenty of other news to distract.

I think that’s an approach that leads to sh1t happening. If you don’t address the ‘little’ things that people see as unjust then things like brexit happen.

there is always a way around issues that keeps the majority comfortable with the outcome.  Not addressing things gives the impression that you aren’t interested in what the silent majority think. That festers over time. People are generally reasonable and understanding. Of course there are those on the margins who will never be convinced but they will not be sufficient in number to make the difference.

To think that it’s just conservatives who find this particular example of sporting unfairness unjust is why we have such bad politics atm. yes it’s a very small thing at a time when lots of big things need addressing but to not find a solution that respects all competitors leads to people feeling ignored by the establishment. I go back to brexit - all the crap over the years about bananas, sausages  etc which was ignored as being unworthy of being addressed led to too many people voting for it.

anyway, I’m meandering around now and need to shut up 😀

Jersey gives the green light to proceed with assisted dying legislation, with huge public support. I’m pleasantly surprised in a place that is dominated by conservative thinking.

Hopefully a first step towards the religiously ingrained belief that death is the worst thing that can happen to you being dispelled, and assisted dying becoming the norm
