Opinions please......I've been invited to a housewarming party.  Someone from work, reasonably friendly with them. Just got married bought first house, early 30s, decent jobs.......what's a reasonable gift or sum of money as a gift?  Not sure a fiver in a card or a bottle of lambrini is going to cut it.

Please remember I also have to save up for tickets to feed my lcfc addiction 🤣

It's a house party, just turn up with a bag of tins and your best anecdotes. I'd be annoyed if people started bringing me random tat I didn't want lol

This situation calls for a 3 litre bottle of Crumpton Oaks, the most impressive sized booze

I won't be sorry to see the News thread and the NHS thread deleted.

Might be some spillover into the SciTech and CC thread if that happens.

Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing.

Think the debates in the News and NHS threads are pretty balanced.

One is a constant repeating of positions and ignoring opposing views, the other is almost 5yr old science and research denialism. Both are boring the tits off me. Anything possibly entertaining has been drowned out by hot takes no one needs.

News thread is just filled with misinformation and then like listening to fox news...it just calls on it mates to "prove" the lies with opinion

I'd love the news thread to get deleted.

It's ok. Some interesting stuff gets shared.

I am guilty of this sometimes but I think some posters take themselves a bit too seriously or try too hard to project their ideal online self.
