@Ecdysiast what's the worst presser you've experienced? And what about the best presser? What about when the word presser is used as someone who pressures an opponent in a specific tactic/set-up? Or is presser only disliked in the context of a press conference?

Only in the context of a press conference. Iknow language evolves but it's an example of "lazy backstage" industry jargon leaking out into the wider world. If you're a group of seasoned hacks chatting together...fine. But not wider use.

But then again I'm a pedantic old fart.

If there's one glaring weakness at the club it's communications. About, we think, to take a giant step on to the world stage as a club and we officially know...nothing.

I'm sure they'll be a presser when they're ready.

I think they're getting there slowly... digital comms has improved dramatically this season.

Hopefully the move into this new office space will be one that comes with a 'you have to earn your seat' mentality, rather than sticking with the old guard. It's not just the players that should be the best in the business working there, our back office staff have to be too!

Yeah, not sure it's going to be quite ready to move in looking at the latest pics:

Those pictures are from March mate, things have picked up a lot since then

Na mate, that is the 'latest visit' according to the OS, no chance our media team haven't released something since if it's still being built.

Can only assume the job had to stop cause of that Covid and hasn't resumed since. Sad times.

Just go to the construction thread, plenty of progress to view there :ermm:

They know exactly what they are doing....

building anticipation, intrigue, etc...  before the announcement. I mean, there’s lots of people talking about it If we were plied with lots of info before the big opening there wouldn’t be much of a fanfare when it does finally open...

But surely they have someone lurking on fan forums so they should know we already have unofficial pics. Seems strange that they haven't then decided to actually do a proper press release with their own images.

It’s often better to work in silence then go around show boating or blowing your own trumpet . They will let us know when there is something worth  knowing . Not everyone  is interested in how many shits Dave the sparky has  had in a day whilst wiring  up the hall lights or how many times big Kev’s hidden the mardy  plumbers tools because he wouldn’t  put smooth FM on . They perhaps  being as professional as they are don’t want to announce or show an unfinished training ground or have to say yeah we’ve moved in but it’s not complete .

I wasn’t asking for daily progress reports.

What are we doing? Why are we doing it? When will it be ready? What does it mean for the players? What does it mean for the fans & other stakeholders?

Just comms. It’s the job. And we’re lousy at it. So far.

But if it’s not  finished there’s nothing  to report
