With Gray leaving this January or Summer someone on the forum said that at least our Number 7 shirt goes

to somebody who deserves it.  This got me thinking though, which shirt number is our most iconic?  Man Utd have the coveted Number 7 and the Geordies the Number 9 which do people think ours is in relation to people that have graced it?

For me it maybe Number 9, mainly for Jamie Vardy and Mike Newell.... oh and Paul Kitson!

Number 1 with Banks and Shilton, two of England's greatest keepers. Schmeichel's done a fair amount in his club and international career too.

True that!  Yes! Though we could retire the Number 9 shirt when Vards retires.

With Leicester, I think 5 will always be iconic to me for Walshy (I can remember being disgusted that the next player to wear 5 after him was Alan Rogers!) and Wes. Obviously, 9 for Vardy too.

It's strange, isn't it? Certain numbers at certain clubs just don't seem to do well. Number 9 at Chelsea (before Abraham) for example. I can remember 9 and 7 being poisoned chalices at Liverpool for a while (obviously, this is all since the dawn of squad numbers)

Before recent seasons, 2 and 8 seem to have belonged to underwhelming players and number 7 (aside for a personal favourite in Iain Hume) hasn't been the same since Joachim!

You leave Savage alone!

I don't think we have any truly iconic numbers at Leicester.

Number 1 is a good shout, with the keepers we have had, bit I think Vardy will go down as the best ever for us, and he's number 9.

9 we’ve had Heskey, les Ferdinand and vardy in the premier league years. (Eadie too, who was a good player but unlucky with injuries)

The beauty of our Premier League win was that it was a team effort. Player of the year was either Mahrez, Vardy or Kante depending on whether it was the Premier League, the players or the fans.

Football is a team game. We don't need to big up certain players or certain numbers above others - lets do things our way & not copy the likes of Manchester United. What's the next topic going to be: "Some clubs have a great nickname for their stadium" - what should we call the KP. Can I make a starting suggestion of "The Theatre of Miracles?"

I'd agree with the suggestions so far, 1,5 and 9.

Given Vardy is probably our most successful ever player and the talisman of our most successful era, its not unreasonable to imagine his number will probably hold prominence in the future.

Mostly while we moan about everyone else who wears it over the next ten years having to face the impossible prospect of replacing him.

As a former goalkeeper I have to agree with No 1, Banks then Shilton with the upcoming Schmeichel.

Nah, Rodgers never wore 5, he always had 15 if I recall correctly.

6 was always iconic growing up because it was Izzet.

Remember when Bergkamp retired and Wenger didn't want the pressure of giving 10 to another forward so he gave it William Gallas lol
