I've done the double in 2020: no birthday cards and no Christmas presents! 

 

Daughter says a present is on its way, ordered a couple of days ago - biography of Ronnie Drew of The Dubliners.

Didn't even get a card from my brother, but that's par for the course with his disorganisation. He remembers my birthday 1 year in 4, but sent the card a month early a couple of years ago - got the month wrong. 

 

Had a lovely day relaxing and chatting with daughter, though. She seemed pleased with her presents (games gadget, scooter, couple of books, novelty socks, various ornaments, the traditional chocolate coins/Santa).

Chicken roast dinner all went well, wasn't raw or burned and was appreciated. Daughter has gone to her Mum's now so not sure what to do with myself now.......

The Mrs usually gets me some kind of City merch, and this year it’s a ball cap and what appears to be a frilly G-string. *

 

 

That's a proper trucker's hat right there.

 

 

 

* apologies, I’ve checked the packaging and this item is in fact a “Triangle Pennant 19/20” …

          quite a relief really, now I won’t have to ask which of us is supposed to wear it.

I've been with my Mrs for about 18 months now, 14 year old stepson has got his first City shirt today. 

 

He loves it. I took him to a couple of games before lockdown, he was never really in to football, but he definitely is now.

 

His dad video called and asked what he got, then said "Why are you wearing a Leicester shirt?"

 

If you'd have invested some time in your son and found out his interests, maybe he'd be a glory supporting Man U fan like you, mate

Bottle of whisky, which will go down well for one evening if the whole of the country is plunged in to complete lockdown in the next few days and I am tempted beyond the usual double and then half an hour reading in bed before I go to sleep. Lots of other things as well. Most of my family have actually been very generous with present giving. It's as if we all made an unconscious decision to make more effort and spend more money on the people closest to us.
