Players you forgot played for us

Watching a YouTube football quiz and one of the questions was about an ex Newcastle and Leicester defender who was greek. I got that it was Nikos Dabizas but I have to admit I have no real recollection of him playing for us. Maybe partly due to my age and partly to do with how shit we were at that time

 

He actually played 50 odd games for us so I don't know how he doesn't stick in my mind

Saw this thread back again at the top of the board and thought someone had already forgotten Conor Coady played for us!

 

Remember - the one that got an England cap playing for Wolves, and then ended his career splashed all over the papers following those ill advised comments on that Wrexham TV programme??

I was reminded this weekend how we signed Gökhan Inler as pretty much a replacement for Cambiasso in 2015. He was an excellent player – had watched him at Napoli and was excited about the prospect of seeing him in a City shirt.

 

He was meant to be our anchor for 2015-16 – but Kante and Drinkwater stepped up and the rest is history.

Close, he scored the first. Dion Dublin bagged the winner from a Gareth Williams ball... pretty sure it was a corner.

 

You had me doubting my memory then so I had to check the match report.  Konchesky with the assist for Charlton as well apparently

Lineker scored v Notts County his first league goal Duffy set the goal up

I think there's probably about 3 legitimate ones and the others are just naming lesser known player or players they don't actively think of

If you forgot something and then were reminded of it then you still forgot it in the first place, which I suspect is the idea
