After vardy ricardo has been my favourite player for a long time, love the man! Shame it ends like this, also could this not have been put out before the last home game for the fans to say bye properly? Owell thanks ricky and good luck!

Definitely in my top 5 city players of all time. In his prime he was definitely the best Rb in the prem. Legs have definitely gone and its the right time for him to move on, but nothing but love for Ricky.

Well, we had a good year-and-a-half out of him in which he was a very able successor to Simpson. The other six-and-a-half years have been more down than up, and he captained our worst ever side. His interviews, to me, betray a person whose lack of moral fibre more than counterbalanced his one-time considerable talent. But maybe it's unfair of me to think that one of our most senior players who said he wanted out last summer - in spite of nobody being remotely interested in taking him off our hands - is part of the cultural and economic problem which has finally consumed our club.

If he's one of our best ever five players (ahead of the entire league-winning side, and Muzzy / Walsh / Lineker / Smith / Worthington / Weller / Glover / Gibson / Cross / McLintock / Banks / Shilton / Rowley / Chandler / Black / Adcock / Duncan / Hine etc.) then that'd be fairly damning. I think we've offered more as a club than people as meek as Ricardo (who was neither a league nor an FA Cup winner, and to me represents the era of favouring technical ability over strength of character). But each to their own!

The point from @mr wright is why I agree with you, @Wasyls Pec Deck.

And I don't think I'm being remotely cynical in thinking that way.

This in a nutshell is why this place is just a rotten place to be right now.

Yet if the club had posted him off with no fanfare it would have been, “sUch pOor tAste frOm tHe clUb!!!”

Probably still one of my favourite players. Incredible player in his prime, he felt unbeatable. You always felt you had a threat running from deep with Ricky P on the pitch, and he wasn't shy of putting in some great tackles too. His season under Maresca felt like a renaissance, and I was so excited to see him play in that position in the PL. Sadly Cooper couldn't coach that, so he was quickly discarded—probably because (as we've seen this season) he's just not as capable in the full back positions as he once was. I also don't think he was the right figure to be the Captain this season...but I won't blame him for being proud to take on the armband.

I'll miss him. So long, Ricky. Good luck, and hope your next club loves you as much as we have.

I understand what you're saying, but it's still a valid point given the club comms of late.

Yeah I don’t disagree. It’s not perfect. They probably could have done it before Millwall but who knows when he made the decision.

Another asset walking for free. Should have sold him 3 years ago.

Completely agree with this.

Was a really top level player at his peak. He was especially brilliant in the back end of the 2018/19 season after Rodgers arrived and the following season before doing his ACL in the last game before the Covid lock down. Enzo used him very cleverly in the 2023/24 season but his decline has become more and more apparent since then. It's a real shame his time with us has ended like this with no proper appreciation for a player who was a key part of our last top quality PL team. Wish him well for the future, has always been a big favourite of mine, even if it's been painful to watch him this season.

Should never have been captain this year and his decline has been so sad to watch.

On a better note, He was genuinely one of the best right backs in the premier league in his peak but those unlucky injuries killed him. Stayed and absolutely dragged us back to the premier league under Enzo along with KDH when he was way too good for the league. He’s done his best and like all of us and some of the players he’s played with, has been let down by the powers above him. Not quite a legend but a total icon of our glory years, go well Riccy.

Ricky is one of my favourite LCFC player ever. Totally at a different level when he was at his best. I will always remember for all him for good memories, especially the goal against Man City. All the best Rick P🏆🏆🏆

If it wasn't for his injuries wouldn't be anywhere near the shit show of the last 2 seasons.

Not been good this season but its hard to criticise too much. Unfortunately not a strong enough captain to pull the club out of the mess but it's a tough job.

Once the rawness of the this season dampens he will be remembered well.

Before anyone cries, yes Vardy is the GOAT and the best Leicester player of all time but when it comes to best players I've seen player for us, Ricardo at his peak is 2nd only to Kante for me. Injury robbed him but not so much us as he was almost certainly off to one of the giants. Never seen a fullback who was so brilliant defensively and going forward

He was absolute class when he took the ball and brought it inside the opposition couldn’t get near him. For a spell he was touching world class for me.

A beautiful sublime player who will live long in the memory.

I love Riccy P!

Sad he is going but we have had amazing times with him and he has always be commited, loyal and above all else a lovely guy. An amazing player and sadly hit by horrendous injuries but he always stayed positive.

He deserves a standing ovation and a good send off tomorrow

Thanks Riccy! 💙🦊🫶
