Ayoze Perez easily imo. Better touch, better control, better link up play, better technique.

Perez has his flaws, he can go missing and he can get bullied out of the game. But he is a better option than Iheanacho.

Yes a threwball pinged to him today his touch was sublime, just his finish lacking, but I think that will come, his close control is better as well

Perez for me. His movement and tactical nous creates space for the wingers and Maddison to score, if he doesn't himself.

Nacho is good at holding the ball up and can be a good finisher, but always seems to be out of step with the team.

Practically every post on this thread is saying neither reading between the lines.

Barnes up front , Madison and Under supporting. That leaves JJ. Pereira, Castagne,Thomas,Evans , Fofana, Soyuncu,Tielemans, Ndidi, Albrighton,Choudhury,Amartey, Mendy..All of whom I rste as "better" footballers than Iheanacho or Perez, and all grafters.  13 players several of which are good in several positions . we  need 7 of these 13. If you couldn't solve any problem such as who plays on the left , where's the linking men etc from these 12 without playing Perez or Iheanacho I would think you were in danger of losing your fantasy football manager membership. Any ten plus Kasper would be better than playing 9 footballers plus a weakness. Whenever we're 3 up with 15 minutes left send on Perez or iheanacho. I would love one or better still both to come good and enjoy a career at LCFC. I like happy endings. i would n't object to Kristian Fuchs or Wes (when fit)  also playing a large part in the rest of the season,as and when BR decides. So 7 out of 15 mostly

My reason for playing Barnes most far forward is he's fast, can carry the ball fast and in my opinion would press almost as formidably as JV. He can score, and works very hard, In other words he's quite Vardy like ,except for his shape. Under and Madison (much improved work rate and pressing already) with this example ahead would also press hard I think and the whole team watching these three examples (remember they are at the front) would probably reach even higher levels of motivation and performance. When JV returns I suspect we will still be in touch with the PL leaders , still in the cup and still in the EFL .(6 out of 17 when Vardy returns), We probably won't even have to rush JV back. Then watch our smoke.

Admittedly BR probably has a better plan but I don't think this is crazy. Still my job does n't depend on it .I don't see anything until the Liverpool match that this couldn't deal with . 7 from 13 leaves 6 ample room for injuries , and rotation unless we are very, very unfortunate in which case i might at last admit (unlikely there are other alternatives) we are f------d but at least we have n't spent 60-100m for a good striker, (who might or more likely might not fit in immediately )  or wasted 30 m on  another low quality striker we have to jettison. Kinder to everyone and in any case BR has already said  it ain't gonna happen, and I could n't agree more.

I’ve gone nacho

just don’t rate Perez feels like playing with 10 men at times.
30 mill for him 🤦🏽‍♂️

I am convinced we just let Rodgers pick a player he wanted to sweeten the deal for his celtic departure.

Nacho for me.  He's a proper striker and more of a poacher than Perez.  If he had two positions, I'd say he was 80% a no. 9 and 20% a no. 10

As for Barnes, he is brilliant on the wing and carries a real goal threat.  His mere presence out there gives the opposition something to think about.  Moving him to a central position and filling his natural position with any other player would be a backward step for the overall team.

Perez can do a job, but I see him more as a 10 than a 9.  I actually think that Perez and Nacho could be a good partnership up front together, but realise for that to happen probably one of Tielemans or Maddison would have to make way, which isn't likely to happen without an injury to one of them.

I think both are below what we need , neither protect the ball well and both rush passes that should not be made , would like to see both gone along with grey and us buy a decent stricker

Never understood all the hate for Perez he does a job up top. Obviously expecting Vardy's level of performance isn't exactly fair. The guy has a very limited amount of games to work with and always puts a shift in.

Well said. Also the fee - it’s been reported several times that the fee was less than the 30 that’s touted. If I recall it’s <20mil.

Can you find any references to a fee of less than £20m?  I can find plenty that show it was £30m from the Guardian, The BBC, SKY and that's just the first three on google.  Rodgers even said that he was in the market for £30-£50m wide player and then confirmed that Perez was that player unfortunately.

Really think Brendan has to send Nacho out on loan to try and get the lads confidence back to how he used to score for fun before he left Manc City, send him to a top Championship or mid to Lower Premier League team for the remainder of the season I know a baggies fan mate who’d love to take him on loan for the rest of y to be season ?

I'd go with Perez. He has the technical ability to mesh with our other players more seamlessly. If he could get a run of two or three games that could flip the switch with him. He's just a more trustworthy footballer and his work rate is better than Nacho.

Anyone who has voted for Nacho needs to replay some of his games for us. The guy is awful. We play some intricate football and the guy has a footballing brain of someone who plays once a month at Goals for a laugh with his mates. He is just not on the same wavelength as the rest of our players. Pérez isn't amazing but for me the far better option. The moral of the story is we need a new striker.

Surely Nacho has done more for us than Perez? His goal screamer against Spurs at Wembley, match winning performance v Everton, superb away at Villa, great goal scoring record in the cups. What has Perez done? He’s redefined the false 9 as the invisible 9 - does nothing at all. Kel is clumsy, but at least he offers something

Natcho man is being given the nod over Perez for Everton.

Correct call as Natcho can at least score the occasional goal as opposed to Perez going 25 games between goals then a load come along at one wearing him out for another 25 games.

I've had to go for Perez just because I find Iheanacho frustrating to watch. It's not his poor performances that I find frustrating, it's the fact that I think we all know there is quality in there.

I think what you see is what you get with Perez, there's little room for any improvement. Iheanacho I feel has more In the tank but he's running out of time to prove this.

Madness. We've two players in the squad that can play cf. One is injured, and you want to send the other on loan.

For the record I voted perez lol

A short PS, a great manager these days (Morinho, Pep and I hope BR) has to have a quality I have already admitted to, the ability to lie like an Aden watch. If they have scruples they  call it motivation. I don't think BR's about to buy a striker but he might. If I was buying a Striker I would n't admit it. Also Wes's part in the season would ideally be to come on as captain at Wembley when we are leading 3-1, to score a goal from a corner and lift the cup. What a dream.

Perez can go walkabouts occasionally, but he does posses excellent skill technique on the ball, and the ability to lay off passes to the wingers coming around him and midfield players coming behind him generally in tight spaces and with opposition players around him.
