They are looking to sell him, which means any deal for him will likely involve an option to buy

Read on the Arsenal forum that they want an obligation to buy

Something doesn't ring true here!

Neither AMN or Charlobah are Attacking midfielders.

Bren said were after an attacking midfielder - Where is he?!!?

Apparently he actually didn't, seems like he actually just said midfielder, and Stringer/BBC RL have just tacked on that attacking part

I personally took it to mean attacking relevant to Hamza, which means basically anyone more creative than Gary Coatsworth.

I think it's very much a central midfielder he's after. If Tielemans / Maddison gets injured or even just simply needs resting/rotating the (fit) cover is currently Hamza or Hamza.

I think we'll get AMN and Chalobah.

AMN being the main target and Chalobah coming in to fill a squad space so that we can let Hamza go out on loan (I think that's where the Chalobah deal has come from, we owe Hamza but need a replacement)

Getting AMN in also means added security for about 3 positions in case of an injury crisis.

Both will be loans too.

He said “another midfield player like I said before”. And he’s been saying a CAM hasn’t he?

about a week ago, in his press conference, he said 'attacking midfielder'. Appreciate he was mis quoted yesterday by Ian fooking Stringer

Since it appears we're after a versatile midfielder, does anyone else think we could be in for Mattias Svanberg, as previously linked to us on his own thread, earlier in the month?

Hope so, he looks handy.

Seems like the type of under the radar signing we'd go for

He was quite clear in his press conference on Friday it would be an attacking midfielder and then Choudhury could be let go.

This is why we should have gone in for odegaard when we could. Clubs aren't as willing to sell in this window and when a top quality player like that comes up, we had to go for him. Eriksen for me would be a definite no because I don't want us paying 300,000 grand a week for a few months.

I voted that we may sign at least one player on deadline day - hopefully AMN. He is a very versatile, jack of all trades kind of player who would fit in very nicely in our squad.

We enquired, apparently he didn't fancy it.
