With our available personnel, I think a 4-2-1-2-1 (or call it a 4-5-1 if you like) is the best option.  But I doubt we'll see it.

Castagne-Evans-Soyuncu-Thomas

             Ricardo-Ndidi

                Tielemans

             Under-Barnes

                  Vardy

I’m not yet resigned to Madders being out for a few weeks. Yea there is with Doctor seeing specialists in London but if he doesn’t require surgery I’m not sure rest will make a massive difference? It may just be here’s some cortisone and a needle and off you go? My fear is that his condition may ruin his career. Does anybody know about his previous hip injury and if he had an operation or what treatment he had?

Yeah, it is worrying if this is a condition that will keep bothering him. Maybe this is partly to do with taking and practising freekicks and corners, as he does appear to twist his hip quite a bit more than others. Maybe he just needs to rest it up a bit.

Surely a 3-4-3 or 4-2-3-1 would be better than putting Ricardo in midfield and taking Tielemans out of his best position. Under has played as the 10 before for his national team, and done well.

For me, either

Amartey Soyuncu Evans

Ricardo Tielemans Ndidi Castagne

Under Vardy Barnes

Or

Castagne Evans Soyuncu Thomas

Ndidi Tielemans

Ricardo Under Barnes

Vardy

Castagne

Evans

Soyuncu

Thomas

Ndidi

Choudhury

Tielemans

Albrighton

Barnes

Vardy

Back 4 with Choudhury dropping into the Tielemans role and him moving into Maddison’s more forward position, possibility of Ünder for Albrighton, wouldn’t risk Ricardo against these Czech thugs, hope we have a decent set of Officials as these were one of the worst bunch of moaning, diving cheats we have played against in many a year...

All of these options depend on Under starting, which has pretty much zero chance of happening.

Rodgers tends to start him in Europe and thr FA Cup does he not?

Didn’t start him in Prague.

So that means he won't start him in Europe or the FA Cup again? I'd be very surprised if he didn't start tonight.

I would go with a straight 442.

Back four of Castagne, Evans, Cags and Thomas.

Mid four of Ricardo, Youri, Ndidi and Barnes.

Kel and Vardy up top.

It is a shame he is out, and more for him, but Madders is one of those players we can afford not to play. He is a great player, and is in red hot form at the moment, but I would say our greatest threats come from the flanks and Vardy. Youri has the ability to create from a deeper role or be pushed a bit higher up.

My only concern is Madders has contributes a lot to goals so far, so we need to make sure we can replace that, I would encourage Youri to shoot more, because he is capable of a few thunder ****ers, I just think he has been asked to play a role that doesn't present that opportunity a lot.

We will be fine, i'd be more inclined to turn to alcohol is Barnes got injured.

He’s done, man.  Vapor, toast, a memory.  He’ll play if there are no other options and not before.  He is an ex-parrot.

We've about reached desperation levels. He'll start

Can't believe people have overlooked the one and only true replacement for Maddison...

Ladies and gentleman, I offer you Mr Flexible... Mr Utitily.... The Gahnaian Lampard Big Dan Amartay!

I do remember him playing quite far forward in his early days!

Dan is unfairly hammered on here. But that is not an exclusive Club on FT.  People over-look his injuries.

How do you mean people over-look his injuries? Do you mean we should use them as an excuse to negate any criticism? So his poor set pieces are just because of hips or something?

I was referring to Dan. See my Edit.

With Maddison, Praet and Perez all out injured I’ve been thinking of a solution to our lack of midfield creativity. I’m almost there, but it’s just beyond my reach at the moment...,.

Has he suspension been cancelled then?

No, Nacho will be playing in the league though. Hard to see Maddison being back in the next few weeks.

I've never seen him hammered on here. People quite rightly discuss his ability to play at the high standards that Rodgers requires for his teams to function. It's also interesting to discuss how the side rebalances with him playing. At RB it might be possible to play him like Danny Simpson allowing a lot more freedom for the RW. We haven't really seen that yet.
