One of our ex scouts were mentioned in the recent report about the historical sexual abuse in English football... could that 5.7m be compensation?

just speculating! Don’t have a clue!

Would that amount have impacted the accounts by the 31st May 2020 though?

I'm baffled how our wages have increased so much? Our average player salary is now £75k a week, surely not.

looks like a huge jump in 2019, although can't believe signings of Praet, Youri and Perez + a few contract renewals would cause such an increase. Rodgers and his new coaching team probably added to it as well!

It doesn't look right to me, especially considering there was a general drive to bring down the wage bill from players like Slimani, Silva etc.

I think it's got to be an error.

Doesn't look great but par for the course it seems. At least they've explained about the fact that prize money etc will be in next year's accounts due to the late finishing of the season.

Might be tight financially for the next year but we are guaranteed the TV money, several players are being released and we should have fans back in some capacity from next season. Champions League obviously helps massively.

It certainly will .......i think it’s the next 9 games are crucial for the next five years of our club if we want to become established at the PL top table .....

Settlements for families of the helicopter crash??

Disputes over construction planning for the stadium/training ground?

Could be any or all of them maybe.

The 2nd one, would  be settled & covered by the Insurance, surely ?.!

One thing, I wont be hoping for CL qualification, to Save our Financial ditherings...That should be gravy, even if its  only just a dribble...

Lets Not make it a must, or doomsayers, will be all over it..!!

I would say lets see how the Next 2 EOY Tax reports fall...

wasted big Earners off the Wage list.

A couple of other players retiring..

Last seasons 5th place Qualification & games will help...

The Training ( seagrave)  Center's  1St & 2nd years, will give is a better idea of costs/debts...

Invariably there will be other pluses & negatives, Maybe investments/Sponsors etc...

One Thing it should help to cut out, is the blind, naive posts demanding we buy players,

no holes barred, then If nothing forthcoming post how confused they are..!!

you’re not really saying we had to pay Dave rennie  nearly 6 million for finishing his contract a year early are you?

Come on, we all know the actual story was that Rennie gave Top £2 to put a lottery ticket on. Top was having a busy day, and nipped over to the holiday Inn for a pint, thus forgetting to put big daves numbers on. The numbers only bloody come up. £6 million worth down the drain, or so he thought. Anyway he goes to have it out with Top and tells him to stuff his job where the sun dont shine. Top accepts his resignation and Susan Whelan felt bad for Dave, twisting tops arm to pay out the £6m, as its only small change and a couple of meals out, don't be so tight she told him. So he did, and now they are showing in the accounts. End of story*

*the story may contain factual inaccuracies.
